She left Emmerdale earlier this month after five years on the soap as Faith Dingle.
And Sally Dexter has revealed that leaving feels like she’s “run away from family,” after her on-screen character tragically committed suicide amid a battle with cancer.
Despite the harrowing departure, the actress, 62, has hinted at more drama on the horizon for her on-screen family — teasing Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) to “watch out for Cain Dingle.”

Sally’s character Faith tragically took her own life in the scenes that aired earlier this month, dying in the arms of son Cain, played by Jeff Hordley.
And candid about the emotional exit, the actress told the mirror: ‘It was like you left the family, it was like you died and left your family, but I know where they live!’
Speaking to the publication at the Inside Soap Awards, she explained that, while sad, it was an “honour” to re-enact the scenes.

“It was just an honor to do it. I’ve had so many people who had parents or family or friends in that situation, and it meant something to them. It really matters, it’s a life and death situation,” she explained.
After discovering that her terminal illness had spread to her brain, Faith, determined not to lose her abilities, took a number of pills before slipping into the emotional final scenes.
Fans were left in tears at the death, with one taking to Twitter to share that their hearts were “broken” over it.

Another agrees: ‘Sobbing, that was really sublime from everyone involved. Faith Dingle, I will miss you.”
Never Stops: Hinting at more drama on the soap, Sally said ‘something is coming’, she teased things could turn sour for Al, who is in romance with Chas Dingle, despite being engaged to Kerry Wyatt
Though it’s an emotional farewell for Faith, the drama continues in the Yorkshire glens as Sally teased even more screen blows on the horizon.
She admitted that “something is coming” and teased that things could turn sour for Al, who has a romance with Chas Dingle despite being engaged to Kerry Wyatt.
“Viewers should always pay attention to Cain. It’s very important,” she teased — before explaining that she couldn’t reveal too much.
