Kelvin Fletcher revealed he was ‘beaming with pride’ when his daughter secured her first acting role.
The actor, 40, who played Andy Sugden in Emmerdale for 20 years, revealed on Thursday that Marnie, seven, had decided to follow in his footsteps in an Instagram update.
He shared a photo of his daughter on the set of Hollyoaks, writing an emotional caption and talking about how “surreal” it felt to watch her.
Kelvin announced: “Marnie made her TV acting debut last week when she joined the fantastic cast of @hollyoaksofficial. I was her ‘chaperone’ and I can’t tell you the emotions I felt as I stood there watching.
‘Being behind the camera and seeing my 7-year-old daughter act in front of the camera for the first time brought back so many feelings to when I first started acting and it felt so surreal to witness that again to be, but this time, as a parent.’

He added: “My heart beamed with pride and it was truly one of the few times I felt completely fulfilled.”
Kelvin and his actress wife Liz, best known as Cold Feet’s Rosemary, bought a 300-acre farm on the edge of the Peak District in 2020 where they live with their four children.
The couple share children Marnie, seven, Milo, four, and 23-month-old twins Maximus and Mateusz
He and Liz and their children were determined city dwellers. He had never set foot on a farm before he started working on Emmerdale.
Having just won Strictly, he seemed to have the entertainment world at his feet and was actually planning to move to LA with Liz to take his acting career to the next level when he saw the farm was for sale.
He told Ny Breaking’s Weekend Magazine: ‘I’m a bit of an all-rounder. I’m a farmer, an actor, a father, a househusband… Liz is the same. We both fulfill many roles.
“It’s chaotic, overwhelming at times,” Kelvin said.
‘But as I keep saying to Liz, there will come a day – perhaps when the children leave home – when we will feel more relaxed. I’m sure people will say, “How are they dealing with all this?” But it’s brilliant. We are happy, fulfilled and excited.”

They have a flock of rare breed Cotswold sheep, as well as chickens, alpacas, rabbits and pigs.
Kelvin will give fans a glimpse into his family’s life on his farm with the new series of Fletcher’s Family Farm, which aired in October.
The documentary-style series is set on his 300-acre farm in the Peak District, where he moved from Manchester in 2021.
Kelvin previously starred in the BBC series Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure, where he learned to run a farm, following in the footsteps of his Emmerdale character Andy Sugden.
