Emmerdale viewers breathe a sigh of relief as Paddy rejects ex-wife Chas
Emmerdale viewers were overjoyed for Thursday’s episode after Paddy Dingle told his cheating ex Chas he was ‘no longer in love’ with her.
Tensions ran high after they shared a kiss in Wednesday’s episode – despite the lovable character being left heartbroken in December when his wife’s affair with Al Chapman finally came to light.
But after their passionate meeting, it seems that the pair have been left in separate pages.
Chas opened up and admitted that their kiss “meant something” to her and said she wanted him back.
She told him, “Look Toad, what happened last night took us both by surprise. Do you know on the day it’s five years since I proposed?’

Paddy replied, ‘Yes. It’s not a day I’ll forget.’
She continued, “And here we are again. I’m not going to lie, I never dreamed there was a chance that – well what you said this morning about having feelings – it just upset me.
“And I haven’t been able to think about it since. Thinking of us.
“You see in my head that we were over, but you know what, if you feel what I feel, there might be a chance to go back.”
He interrupted, “Chas we’ve been here before!”
She continued, “Yeah, I know, but when push comes to shove, we always end up back together, don’t we? That must mean something. Why did we kiss last night?’
Paddy replied, ‘I don’t know! To see if there was anything else.’
Chas explained, “Yes and there was! I know I have no right to say this after all I’ve put you through, but since we had you here last night, the three of us together. It made me realize how much I miss you.”

“I missed you too,” Paddy admitted.
Chas continued, “Then why are we doing this to ourselves? I ask you to forgive me and go back home. Please let’s try again.’

He began, “Do you realize how long I waited for you to say that?”
“I’m so sorry,” Chas said.
Paddy continued, ‘You are the love of my life. They will never be anyone else like you.
“But last night I wanted to kiss you more than ever before because I wanted those old feelings to come back. But they didn’t.
‘I will always be there for you. Always. But I felt nothing when we kissed.
‘I love you, I really do. But I’m not in love with you. Not anymore. And I’m sorry. I’m not coming back.’
Taking to Twitter as the episode aired, fans breathed a sigh of relief for Paddy.
Well done Paddy!!! Hurts, doesn’t it, Chas?’ said one viewer.
A second said, ‘Paddy at last!’
A third added: ‘I knew it! Nice Paddy’.
A fourth admitted: ‘Well you got that right Paddy! There will never be anyone like the selfish Chas. Good job Pads.’
Just the night before, viewers were left seeing red when Paddy went back to his cheating ex Chas as they shared a kiss.
But it seemed that time heals all wounds as Paddy found himself eager to spend time with Chas to prove to their daughter Eve that despite the breakup they were still a family.
Chas was thankful that Paddy helped as she struggled with housework and looking after Eve.
He told her, “Eva is our daughter, you shouldn’t have to deal with her alone.”
Chas replied, “She misses you around.”

Paddy said: “Yeah well I miss her more than you can imagine” before adding: “I think it’s about time we showed her we can still do all the things we used to do as a family .’
After putting Eve to bed, the former couple realized there was still something between them when they shared a kiss.
But the rekindled romance hasn’t gone down well with fans who are convinced Chas will cheat on him again.
One viewer said, “Oh Paddy, what are you doing?” while another said, “Please don’t end up in bed with Chas.”
A third fan said, ‘Paddy what are you playing at? I could never forgive a woman who cheated on me.’
A fourth added: “Paddy just kissed Chas and I wish he would just get some goddamn self respect. She has repeatedly cheated on him and told him that he is just a safe option for her relationship and that he will still come back.”
Another sarcastically added, “Chas and Paddy get alone, I’m shocked.”
