Emmerdale fans confused with flash forward scenes of Alex targeted in mysterious hit and run 

Emmerdale viewers admitted they “had no idea what was going on” as the timeline flashed back and forth in Thursday’s episode.

Multiple flashforwards saw Alex Moore (Liam Boyle) bloodied and injured on the road after being hit and run.

As the show unfolded, we got a look at the events leading up to the heartbreaking scenes. The drama began when Alex stole drugs from a pharmacy van.

But the thief was discovered by Charles, who found the loot in the back of his car and proceeded to chase Alex down the street and pin him down.

Alex told him, ‘I have debt, big debt, I just need to get out of this mess,’ before punching Charles and throwing the vicar’s phone into the water.

Charles then informed the police and was frustrated by Naomi’s reaction to what he had told her about Alex.

Then he grabbed his keys and went for a walk for some ‘fresh air’.

At the side of a road, Alex was on the phone with Clare, but as he hung up and pulled out onto the road, he was struck by a passing car.

As Alex lay lifeless on the ground, Billy walked towards him before yelling in frustration at what he had done.

He quickly backed away from the scene, leaving Alex gasping in the way.

But the non-chronological order simply confused those watching at home and some admitted it was like watching ‘The Matrix mixed with Emmerdale.’

One wrote: “I hate these flashforwards, it ruins everything to know what’s going to happen.”

Another added: ‘Yeah, I hate it when they mess up the timeline!’ while a third said: ‘This fast forward part is weird. In my opinion, it loses the shock factor of it actually happening.’

But when the moment Alex got hit by Billy’s car happened, fans jumped out of their seats.

One wrote: “Wow, I almost jumped out of my seat there.”

Another said: ‘What the hell just happened? He made me jump out of my skin. So realistic! I almost felt sorry for him.

The show ended with Billy returning to the scene only to find that the police had invaded the area.

After confessing to Dawn, she told him to shut up and that they only had a problem if Alex was alive as he could tell the officers that Billy was behind the accident.
