Emmerdale: Charity and Mackenzie’s wedding is thrown into chaos

Charity and Mackenzie’s wedding was thrown into chaos on Wednesday’s dramatic episode of Emmerdale.

Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) were both arrested by the police in a van given to them by his sister Moira, leading viewers to believe she made it all up.

The pair didn’t get along and got involved in a heated confrontation on Tuesday where Moira (Natalie J Robb) was accused by Charity of trying to sabotage the wedding while letting her paranoia get the better of her.

On Wednesday, Moira went to their house to make amends and said they could use an A-team replica van she found.

Later, getting frisky in the vehicle, they were approached by police who said the van had been used in a robbery days earlier. They were then taken into custody.

As they were subsequently questioned by the police, the penny dropped for Charity when she realized it was Moira who had offered them the van.

It followed how they came to blows on Tuesday night’s episode.

In the episode’s opening scenes, Moira showed Charity a slideshow of childhood photos that revealed that Mac was a fan of the A-Team, prompting Charity to book him a themed van in the film as a gift ahead of to the big day.

But while there were pleasantries between Charity and Moira at first, things quickly took a turn for the worse when they got into a physical brawl in the barn, rolling in the hay in which Moira lost the wedding wings.

Charity became convinced that Moira was planning to ruin the wedding and then banned her from the occasion, insisting she enlist the help of husband-to-be Mack, but even though the two characters were fraught, fans of the show took to Twitter to expressing their delight as the action unfolded.

One person wrote, “Charity and Moira should marry each other instead because their love/hate relationship is always very entertaining and like a REAL marriage, who’s going to tell Cain though.”

Another shared, “Charity and Moira have had such iconic feuds before, but this one over Mac is so creepy.”

Another viewer posted, “Moira & Charity should not be in close contact or a fight is inevitable.”

“We need an entire episode of just Charity and Moira,” demanded another viewer.

Charity and Mackenzie have one of the most dramatic weddings Emmerdale has ever had.

And the day before the wedding, the action ramps up when things take an unexpected turn in the village.

Moira showed Charity some old photos prior to the wedding, and sees a reference to the A-Team that gave her an idea for a special gift for her husband-to-be Mack.

Charity managed to get an A-Team replica van to surprise Mack, with the Charity, Mack and Moira dressing up as characters from the 1980s television series.

Bride Charity wore a silver wig to become John ‘Hannibal’ Smith, while Moira dressed up as ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock.

Mackenzie dressed as ‘Face’, also known as Lieutenant Templeton Arthur Peck.

Delighted with his gift, Mack and Charity decided to make the most of the van when they stopped on a country road and turned up the heat as they approached in the back.

However, they were in for a shock when PC Swirling knocked on the door and told them they were getting steamy in a vehicle involved in a robbery.

The couple were arrested and spent the night in the cells just hours before they were supposed to say ‘yes’ to their wedding, with Charity thinking Moira set them up.

With the setback of the arrest, there is a huge question mark over whether the wedding can go ahead at all.

Charity unsuccessfully tries to clear their names before the couple are later released, making it almost too late to get married.

Fortunately, PC Swirling is ready with the A-Team van to drive full speed to the church so the wedding can go ahead.

When filming the scenes, Emma said, “I was like no, not again. But then I love the A-Team. I used to watch it on Saturday nights as a kid. I was obsessed.

“You have to embrace these episodes or it’s just not going to be great.

“We had a lot of fun with it.”

It comes after Mack began to doubt his future with Charity after the pair enjoyed their bachelorette parties prior to the big day.

Moira began to doubt Mack about giving up any chance of having a child.

Naturally, Mack harbors the dirty secret that he fathered a child with Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland).

After an accident at Charity’s bachelorette party, pregnant Chloe was rushed to hospital, while Mack struggled to hide his concern.

Later, Mack stunned Charity with a shocking confession that cast doubt on their entire marriage.

The soap boss reminded viewers that Chloe’s baby is due around the same time and that wedding ceremonies “never go smoothly” on the show.

She said Subway: ‘Weddings never go smoothly, and Chloe’s baby is due around the time of the wedding!

“I think you can put the pieces together yourself and figure out what might happen around the wedding — it’s going to be explosive for Charity and Mackenzie.”
