Emmerdale: Charity and Mackenzie get married while Chloe gives birth to a son
Emmerdale took a dramatic turn on Thursday night when Charity Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd finally got married, while Chloe Atkinson gave birth to a son.
Charity (Emma Atkins) and Mackenzie’s (Lawrence Robb) wedding day turned into chaos after they were arrested for driving a van involved in a robbery.
However, they were later released from prison and rushed to finally tie the knot at their A-Team themed wedding.
Things hit another hurdle when Mackenzie was informed that Chloe had gone into labor and had mysteriously disappeared, before arriving at the last minute for the nuptials.
When Mackenzie said he hadn’t been “honest” at the altar, it seemed that Charity would finally find out about his affair with Chloe, resulting in her getting pregnant.

Baby: Elsewhere, Chloe gave birth to a baby boy named Reuben, while Charity was unaware of her affair with Mackenzie
However, he just gave an emotional speech and the couple successfully married, while Chloe (Amy Nuttall) was seen giving birth to a son named Reuben.
The episode came to a dramatic end when Charity gave a touching speech to Mackenzie and was unaware of her new husband’s huge secret.
It remains to be seen if Charity finds out at her reception, after show bosses promised the wedding would be “explosive.”
Tension started on Thursday’s episode when Charity and Mackenzie were stuck behind bars after being arrested for driving a van involved in a robbery.
They were both arrested by the police in a van his sister Moira (Natalie J Robb) had given them, leading viewers to believe she set it all up.
The pair didn’t get along and got involved in a heated confrontation on Tuesday, where Moira was accused by Charity of trying to sabotage the wedding while letting her paranoia get the better of her.
On Wednesday, Moira went to their house to make amends and said they could use an A-team replica van she found for their themed wedding ceremony.
Later, getting frisky in the vehicle, they were approached by police who said the van had been used in a robbery days earlier. They were then taken into custody.

On Thursday, Charity was heard telling police that Moira was “behind all of this,” but she was told she had spent all night trying to get them out of jail.
Moira then spoke to PC Mike Swirling (Andy Whitaker), trying to convince him that Charity and Mackenzie were not involved in the robbery.
Thinking all hope was lost, the couple were released from prison after Moira and PC Swirling teamed up to make it happen.
They got into the van and ran from the police station in a desperate attempt to get to the church in time, Moira yelling, “Get in! We don’t have time, come on!’
Driving there very slowly with PC Swirling driving, they begged the police officer, “Come on Swirling, put your foot down!”
An action sequence saw as the A-Team theme music blared as the van drove down the track at high speeds, heading toward the Reverend Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin).
Thinking that the couple would not come, Charles started to drive away in his car, only to be nearly hit head-on by the speeding van.
A startled spectator exclaimed, “They’re going way too fast!”
However, they managed to avoid injury and instead knocked over a stack of boxes, leaving viewers in the lurch at the funny sequence.
One viewer wrote on Twitter, “Omg words fail me,” while another commented, “Have a nice ride.”
Commenting on PC Swirling, a third said: ‘Deserves a BAFTA for outstanding service to be the only police officer in the Dales.’
A fourth tweeted, “What the hell is happening in Emmerdale,” while a fifth added, “A-Team theme tune, WTF?”

After the action driving sequence, Mackenzie mysteriously left after checking his phone, with fans wondering if he had gone to the hospital to see Chloe.
But he seemingly didn’t show up at the hospital and almost missed his wedding after his extended absence, before returning at the last minute to marry Charity.
When they got to the altar, it looked like he might finally confess his affair with Chloe to Charity, saying he hadn’t been “honest.”
He said to his wife-to-be, “Actually, I want to say something. I’m sorry, but I haven’t been completely honest with you.
“So the day we got engaged, I promised you that that would be a moment when everything would go right for us, but it didn’t.
‘Cause it all started going well for me when I met you. I know we promised there wouldn’t be any speeches, but I want you and everyone here to know… there’s nothing more important to me. That’s why I was late, I was writing this.’
The happy couple then got married and went to celebrate their union with their loved ones where they were told that Chloe had given birth to a son named Reuben.
Charity said, ‘Shall we have a toast? To Chloe and to Reuben,” as Mackenzie watched anxiously.
Charity and Mackenzie then shared a private moment when the bride told her new husband to close his eyes while she gave a speech of her own.
She said, ‘Um, what you said in church, it was beautiful and that’s why I kind of wanted to do the same thing, but I can’t do it with your eyes open because it’s kind of cringe.
“The reason I didn’t want to give speeches is because all we seem to do is about the past, and that’s not my favorite place to be… what my favorite place is is here and now with you.”
Poignantly, she continued, “God only knows what tomorrow will bring, there will be something, there always is, it’s only a matter of time, but we can get through anything.
“For the first time in my life I know what’s important, which is that we have each other, just you and me,” she concluded.
Mackenzie then said, “It will always be just you and me.”
The screen then flashed to show Chloe with her newborn as she said, “It’s just you and me now,” referring to Mackenzie’s lack of involvement with the child.
It remains to be seen if Charity will discover Mackenzie’s affair with Chloe or if her new father is seemingly Reuben’s father.
Emmerdale’s executive producer Jane Hudson previously warned Charity and Mackenzie’s wedding would be “explosive.”

The soap boss reminded viewers that Chloe’s baby is due around the same time and that wedding ceremonies “never go smoothly” on the show.
She said Subway: ‘Weddings never go smoothly, and Chloe’s baby is due around the time of the wedding!
“I think you can put the pieces together yourself and figure out what might happen around the wedding — it’s going to be explosive for Charity and Mackenzie.”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
