Emmerdale: Caleb and Nicky’s true identities are FINALLY revealed in a shocking twist

Caleb and Nicky’s true identities were finally revealed at Emmerdale on Thursday.

The dramatic episode exposed Home Farm nanny Nicky (Lewis Cope) as Leyla’s (Roxy Shahidi) stalker.

And if that wasn’t enough, Nicky was also revealed to be Caleb’s (Will Ash) son.

In a Q&A released after the episode aired, William Ash, who plays Caleb, and Lewis Cope, who plays Nicky, teased what might come after the shocking twist.

Will said, “It’s nice to get their big secret out in the open. There’s a lot of people speculating, even people coming up to me on the street and asking, “What’s Caleb up to?” and, “Why is he in the village?” It’s good that that part of the story is there, great for the audience so they don’t lose interest in that thread.’

Lewis added: “But it’s also almost just the beginning. Finding out that Caleb and Nicky are related. But why are they there? What are they doing? Will she succeed? How will it end? That will all be very exciting!

WA: “We started shooting some scenes where we work together, where you get to know more details, and they were great for us to play. Due to the nature of the story, we haven’t had many scenes together so it’s great to start this new chapter.”

Lewis continued, “Yeah, you start to see the reasons why they’re in the village, then you start to see the relationship between the two and how they live, which is really interesting.”

Will agreed, “The public is going to start seeing more layers to them and little secrets they have that complicates their relationship. That was really fun to play.’

When asked if they knew the storyline when they joined the show, Will exclaimed, “I did!” I knew that Frank Tate was Caleb’s father and Faith was his mother. Besides, I knew Caleb’s son had gotten a job at Home Farm, which Caleb had forced him to do to put him in that world to learn as much as he could about it.”

Lewis added, “I thought I came in as a love interest for Gabby, it was later on when I got the scripts and it started revealing itself to me.” It was a nice surprise because I wasn’t anticipating anything, I could just look at what was in the script and make it work.”

Will concluded, “It can be a bit of a burden for both of them as there is a foot in both families. It’s very clever that they used that device to see how much disruption these characters can cause. There has always been a clash between the Tates and the Dingles, but now it will really flare up! It’s very grand what Caleb and Nicky are trying to do, so there’s a lot of fireworks ready to go off.”
