Emmerdale bosses reveal six HUGE spoilers ahead of the Christmas period – including a mystery new baby, a cheeky affair and a heartbreaking health story

Emmerdale fans are in for a treat after the soap announced seven major spoilers to come Christmas period.

Instead of joy and laughter, the festive season will be filled with drama and heartbreak in the Yorkshire Dales.

Soap producer Laura Shaw revealed the secrets Sun, discovering that a new baby is on the way, a saucy affair and a whole host of new characters.

It comes just days before Emmerdale’s highly-anticipated super soap week and Mackenzie is set to make a devastating choice after an explosive car crash.

Here’s a look at what fans can expect from The Dalles at coming of the week…

Dingle special episodes

Dingle special episodes based on one of the show’s most beloved families are coming to the soap opera soon.

Experimenting with the format for these episodes, Laura revealed that all the Dingles would be involved.

“Many secrets will be revealed, and all the cast and crew involved in the making of the film were absolutely thrilled with it.” Having watched the final episodes myself last week, I think it will be very memorable.’

A health story

A major health story is in the works but details have been kept under wraps by bosses.

However, Laura revealed that the diagnosis will have a huge impact on the lives of the characters and their families.

Ensuring the soap carried out in-depth research, they worked closely with the charity to ensure the story was delivered respectfully.

The story will take place over several months as Laura compared it to Ashley’s dementia story.

New characters

There are also a host of new characters joining the soap.

Anil Goutman is joining the soap as a new addition to the Sharma family after recent stories revealed that Rishi was not actually Jai’s biological father.

Anil will play Jai’s biological father Amit, who is Rishi’s brother and Suni’s father.

While discussing the new character, Laura revealed that Amit is a dark and complex character who could threaten to tear the whole family apart.

New baby

The soap boss also revealed that Emmerdale will welcome a new baby in the coming months.

Dawn and Billy are currently expecting a baby, however, it seems that a mysterious new baby will also arrive downstairs, but who will be in for a surprise?

Affair Storyline

There is also a sassy story about affairs in the works, and while we don’t know the names yet, one of the characters is currently happily married.

Laura teased that the affair will rock the villagers and lead to a new arrival joining the soap next year.

“It will be explosive, and this new arrival will cause an uproar in the village,” she added.

Christmas

Christmas is always a big time of the year for soap operas as they treat viewers to the most dramatic storylines and this year will be no different.

While for the past few years Emmerdale has chosen a lighter tone for the Christmas episode, all that will change come this December.

Laura hinted: “We’ve got some exciting plans ahead of Christmas, but I’m absolutely, definitely sworn to secrecy about this one!”

She revealed that not all of the character’s Christmas days will go smoothly this year, as she hinted in the drama.
