Emmerdale bosses confirm return of mysterious character and summer wedding after revealing soap villain’s comeback
Emmerdale bosses have confirmed the return of a mysterious character and a summer wedding later this year after revealing that a villain will also be returning.
Fans have a lot to look forward to after Executive Producer Jane Hudson admitted that not only will Carl King’s son Thomas be back, but there will also be another surprise.
While she’s kept one character’s identity a secret, Jane explained that viewers can expect to see them at an upcoming wedding.
Speaking to the press, Jane explained: ‘You all know we love a summer wedding, I can tell you there is at least one more wedding coming up before the end of summer.
“And we’re going to have a familiar face returning that I think fans will be absolutely thrilled to see when they return to the show.”

She added: “We have plenty coming. The recurring character returns for one of the weddings.
“One of the weddings will be more traditional than Charity and Mackenzie’s. There will be no A-Team wigs or vans.”
Carl King’s son Thomas is making a comeback to the Dales next month, having last set foot in the village in 2013, terrorizing the locals in the wake of his father’s death.
The teenager, played by Mark Flanagan at the time, left Chas Dingle terrified as he pursued her for her part in his father’s death – she had initially hit him with a rock before Cameron Murray returned to deliver the killing blow.
He also started a relationship with Belle Dingle and the two planned to run away together, leading Belle’s late mother Lisa to call the police fearing he had kidnapped her – before Thomas finally changed his mind.
Thomas also twice stole Dan Spencer’s motor home, while also getting into mischief with Dan’s son Sean in the village – including stealing the late Sandy Thomas’s mobility scooter.
And now, 10 years after fleeing the village to live with his mother in Saudi Arabia, Thomas – now known as Tom – is reportedly returning to potentially cause “mayhem” again.
When Tom returned, Jane said, “Jimmy’s cousin Tom is coming back on the show and he’s been living abroad for a while. He’s back in England and qualified as a vet, so I think we all know where he’s going to work.

It comes after Emmerdale took a dramatic turn on Thursday when Charity Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd finally got married, while Chloe Atkinson gave birth to a son.
Charity (Emma Atkins) and Mackenzie’s (Lawrence Robb) wedding day turned into chaos after they were arrested for driving a van involved in a robbery.
Things hit another hurdle when Mackenzie was informed that Chloe had gone into labor and had mysteriously disappeared, before arriving at the last minute for the nuptials.
