Emma Thompson has revealed that she still has deep feelings about her role in the classic rom-com Love Actually.

“That scene where my character is standing by the bed crying is very well known because it’s something everyone has been through,” he said.

‘Ken broke my heart so much. Then I knew what it was like to find the necklace that wasn’t for me.

‘Well, it wasn’t exactly that, but we’ve all been there.’

Love Really was written and directed by Curtis and was released in November 2003 to mixed reviews from critics.

‘I’ll remember being 80 feet away [24 metres] up on that structure and looking down, and all the kids were down there,’ she recalls.

“They were saying, ‘You’ll be fine.’ My legs were shaking and we were all singing live. For me, it was such an exciting thing to do, but also terrifying.

“So that’s what will stay with me from Matilda The Musical,” the Late Night actress said.

Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical will stream on Netflix starting December 25.
