The actress began dating Dave in June 2017, after they first met when Emma hosted SNL in 2016, where Dave worked as a segment director.

The couple announced on social media that they were engaged in December 2019 and married in 2020 after four years of dating.

They welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Louise Jean McCary, in 2022.

After winning the Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy in January, Emma thanked Dave in her speech.

‘Thank you. Oh boy. Thank you. This is amazing. Thank you. Dave, I need to start with you real quick. I love you very much. Thank you for everything,” Emma said as she pointed to her husband.

The Easy A actress previously gave an insight into her life as a mother during an interview in the British television program Lorraine.

Interviewer Mark Heyes asked Emma: ‘What has the lockdown been like for you? You’re a mummy now, which is great.’

The actress replied, “It’s very, very exciting. I’m lucky with what the lockdown has been, but it’s been a crazy year.’

According to TMZ, the star chose the name Louise Jean McCary for her daughter as a sweet tribute to her grandmother, who goes by Jean Louise.

“Having a baby has brought them closer together in ways they never expected,” an insider close to the couple told Us Weekly at the time.

Dave remained “hands-on and helping with their daughter” since they welcomed the child and Emma “was immersed in all the precious moments of being a first-time mother.”

Problemista is a new comedy film that follows aspiring toy designer Alejandro (Torres), a young man from El Salvador who struggles to bring his unusual ideas to life in New York, according to the synopsis.

It continues: “As the time on his work visa expires, a job assisting an erratic art world outcast becomes his only hope of staying in the country.”

The film is scheduled to hit theaters on Friday, March 1.
