Emma McKeon can’t wipe the smile off her face as she cuddles up to her boyfriend Cody Simpson

They have been dating for just a few months. 

And Emma McKeon and boyfriend Cody Simpson’s romance is going swimmingly. 

Champion swimmer Emma couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she cuddled up to her hunky beau on the way to a pool training session in Southport, Queensland on Wednesday. 

The pair recently had a successful Commonwealth Games campaign in the UK and are now focusing their sights on the Olympics.  

Emma, 28, threw a grey hoodie over tight black shorts and accessorised with dark glasses and black sneakers. 

Meanwhile, Cody, 25, wore a black-on-black outfit – a T-shirt and pants with white sneakers as he carried his own bags and slung a jacket over his shoulder.

At one point, the musician-turned-professional swimmer reached out to wrap his arm around his girlfriend’s shoulders and pulled her in close. 

Emma’s face broke out into a huge smile as she leaned into her doting partner.

It comes after Cody and Emma sat down for their first joint interview for Channel Seven’s Spotlight, which aired last month.

The popstar and Olympian were quizzed on their high-profile, but private romance and questioned over whether the relationship was ‘serious’.

Cody referred to the relationship as having ‘settled-down vibes’ and being ‘peaceful’ in a sit-down interview with Denham Hitchcock.

Emma chimed in: ‘I feel like we’re best friends, which to me is so important. I’m close with my family, that is important to me, as well, so we just have a lot in common.’

‘We’re loving where we’re at at the moment. And we have fun together. We just love each other’s company,’ she went on.

‘We talk every day about how happy we are and how lucky we are. I think we definitely appreciate it,’ Cody added.

The pair are said to have first hit it off several months ago as training partners under gun coach Michael Bohl.

They found themselves in the middle of a reputed ‘love triangle’ during the Australian Championships in Adelaide, with reports claiming fellow athlete Kyle Chalmers deliberately bumped Cody out of World Championship eligibility in the 100m butterfly by opting to contest the event.

However, Kyle, who dated Emma for several months in 2021, later disputed this, saying he had always planned to compete in that event.

It comes after Cody went ‘Instagram official’ with Emma in July.

The pop singer posted a gallery of photos on Instagram of himself and Emma holding hands in Barcelona, Spain.
