Emma addressed the symptoms of her ‘terrible’ transition and vowed to be more ‘vocal’ about her battle in a bid to help other women.

The Hammersmith native shared: ‘It has caused terrible anxiety and a loss of confidence. Everything is irrational too.

‘I remember my 19-year-old son told me he was going to the movies and I told him to take a sweater. He told me that he was fine, but I remember being very irrational about it. I thought, “What am I saying?”

According to National Health Service, menopause is a ‘natural part of aging that generally occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, when a woman’s estrogen levels decline. In the UK, the average age for a woman to reach menopause is 51’.

Emma elaborated on her treatment: ‘It’s been a tough road. I went the bi-identical route, which is a form of HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), but it’s supposedly more natural.

“It’s not FDA-approved and you really don’t really know what’s going on. They do a blood test and you have to see your doctor to make an informed decision. [about the process]. I’m much more like me [now].

“You have to see the big picture with everything related to health,” added the brunette.
