Eminem’s youngest child who ‘slipped under the radar’
Rap sensation Eminem is known as Hailie’s father, whom he has rapped about in several of his tracks.
But the global superstar, 50, is also the father of two other children – the eldest being 19-year-old Alaina (Lainey) and his youngest child, Stevie.
Lainey’s biological mother is Dawn Scott, the late sister of Eminem’s ex-wife Kim who was adopted by the couple in the 1990s. But 20-year-old Stevie is Kim’s biological child and was born when Kim and the rapper split.
Their biological father is Eric Hartter, but when Kim and Eminem got back together in 2005, the rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, adopted Stevie as his own. The couple remarried in 2006, but were divorced again by the end of the year.
Hartter died of a cocaine and fentanyl overdose in August 2019 in an abandoned house in Detroit, Michigan after years of drug addiction.
Eminem’s youngest child, 20-year-old Stevie (pictured), was born Whitney but came out as non-binary in 2021, revealing their gender identification journey on TikTok. Stevie is the biological child of Kim Scott and her former partner Eric Hartter, but when Kim got back together with Eminem, the rapper adopted her
Now Stevie lives a quiet life in Michigan with their long distance friend, TikToker Declan Jace, cat Sully and dog after coming out as non-binary two years ago.
After her birth in April 2002, they were formally adopted by Eminem in 2005 when he and Kim got back together.
In 2021, 20-year-old Stevie, born Whitney, announced on their TikTok channel that they were gender fluid and would henceforth alternate pronouns between he, she and she.
They posted a TikTok video about their gender identity that included old photos of Whitney and talked about “being more comfortable” with themselves.
Stevie posted a TikTok video of themselves on their journey to becoming non-binary, where they once described how they used pronouns, but now alternate between she/her, she/she, and he/him
They posted the hashtag “gender fluid” and “bi” and also explained their new pronouns.
Through their TikTok channel, Stevie has revealed snippets of what it was like growing up as Eminem and Kim Scott’s daughter, while hiding their sexuality and gender identity.
In a recent video, Stevie revealed that they once looked up “kissing girls” on their mother’s iPad and later blamed it on a cousin when Kim asked about the search.
In 2021, around the same time they revealed their gender fluidity, Stevie recalled finding out they were adopted in an apparent dig with their parents.
Stevie wore short blonde hair and a gray hoodie in the video, which was filmed up close.
They lip synced along with captions that seemed to recount a real incident where someone told them they were adopted.
“He’s not your real father,” the unnamed person said. “You’re adopted.”
Stevie appeared to lip-sync a denial before approaching their adopted father (first name: Marshall Mathers III), even though the rapper falsely claimed to be their biological father.
‘You’re my real father, aren’t you? am i adopted [sic]?’ they told they asked.
“I am your real father,” the father figure is said to have replied.
Then Stevie claimed they “got an article about my biological father’s death” [sic],’ which they showed to their grandmother.
“I’m sorry they wouldn’t tell you about him,” Stevie told their grandmother.
They ended the video by lip syncing the line “That must be so confusing for a little girl” from the Adventure Time song Remember Me, which played behind the video.
While most of Stevie’s revelations about their life and childhood are made through snippets of TikTok videos, their older sisters, Lainey and Hailie, have previously revealed something about their youngest sibling as well.
Speaking on Hailie’s Just a Little Shady podcast, which is mentioned in an ode to her father’s Slim Shady alter ego, the sisters joked last November about how Stevie was allowed to do much more at a younger age while being subject to stricter upbringing.
Alaina recalled how as the oldest sibling, she “always got into trouble” while her sisters seemed to get away with more. She spoke specifically about her birthday party when she was in sixth grade.
She said, “I wanted to wear a two-piece bathing suit and I wasn’t allowed to. And I was like, Stevie actually came out of the womb in a two-piece bathing suit!”
Alaina is the eldest sibling in the Mathers family and was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Mathers and Kim Scott, when her mother Dawn got into trouble with the police while battling drug addiction.
She grew up alongside the couple’s biological daughter, Hailie, who is two years her junior before Stevie came along.
In 2016, Alaina’s mother was found dead in a trailer park in Detroit, Michigan after an apparent heroin overdose.
Alaina, aka Lainey, uses her Instagram account to reveal details about her private and family life, including her battle with depression and anxiety.
She also uses the account to promote her book club, which she started during lockdown.
