Detroit native and legendary rapper Eminem issued a plea to former Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford ahead of the team’s playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams.
“Stafford, what did I say? You owe me this favor, man,” the 15-time Grammy award-winning artist posted on social media ahead of Sunday’s Wild Card round between the Lions and Rams.
“I was there for you when you won it (Super Bowl LVI). I was there for you. I was there. I knocked for you, Stafford. Bro, I knocked for you. Can you just let us have this? Only this.’
Eminem was referring to his halftime performance alongside fellow hip-hop legends Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre and others during Super Bowl LVI, which Stafford’s Rams ultimately won 23-20 over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Stafford’s Super Bowl victory with the Rams came during his first season in Los Angeles, after he was traded from the Lions in exchange for current Detroit quarterback Jared Goff.
Until that season, Stafford had spent 12 years in Detroit after the Lions selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Like most Detroiters, Eminem is a huge Lions fan and recently celebrated the team winning the NFC North for the first time since 1993 with a social media post that some found hilarious.
“@Lions I did it!!!!!,” Eminem tweeted before almost immediately correcting himself in a reply.
“WE fucking did it while we were still figuring out how to use this thing,” the rapper corrected himself.
Although he claimed to be “still figuring out how to use this thing,” it was noted that he has had an X account since 2009.
