Eminem jokes he’ll ‘stop recording his diss track’ after Ben Johnson’s decision to STAY with the Lions… as he begs team to stay together and insists ‘I WILL get us to the Super Bowl!’ after NFC Championship heartbreak

Detroit native and legendary rapper Eminem joked that he would “stop recording his diss track” after Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson opted to stay with the team.

Johnson was considered one of the hottest candidates on this year’s coaching carousel and many expected him to land one of the remaining two head coaching vacancies in this hiring cycle.

The 37-year-old OC was considered one of the favorites to land the Washington Commanders job specifically, and was heavily linked to the Carolina Panthers last season.

Following the news that Johnson would not be leaving Detroit this year, Eminem tweeted: “I think I have to stop recording this diss song..!! LOL!! @ Ben Johnson Thanks for staying!!! We can’t split this team up, especially since I’m working on it!!!

“Coach Campbell, we love you brother!!! Let’s do it again next year!!…I’m READY!!!! I promise I will get us to the Super Bowl!!!’

Detroit made it all the way to the NFC Championship this year before embarrassingly giving up a 17-point lead in the second half and ultimately losing to the San Francisco 49ers.

Under Johnson’s leadership, the Lions had one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL this season, finishing the year third in the league in yards per game at 394.8 and fifth in the league in scoring at 27.1 points per game .

Eminem is a well-known Lions fan and has been in the news several times recently during the team’s playoffs.

Notably, he was seen blasting 49ers fans while watching the NFC Championship game from a suite at Levi Stadium.

Earlier in the postseason, he also made a plea to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford to “just give us this one.”
