EMILY PRESCOTT: Lucy Sykes is getting it off her chest after being named one of the city’s most influential It Girls by New York Magazine
She was named in New York Magazine last week as one of the most iconic It Girls, alongside Alexa Chung and Ivy Getty, so you’d think Lucy Sykes would scold the scene.
But while Lucy praises New York’s diversity, she’s more critical of the scene this side of the Atlantic, saying, “To be an It Girl in England you need to be super-chic.”
So how would Lucy define It Girl status? “It has nothing to do with you as a human being. If you think you’re one, you should have a silent T for the It.”

Iris’ monkey business
After appearing on the cover of Vogue Japan, model Iris Law is eager to volunteer her time helping monks conserve one of the country’s Unesco World Heritage Sites.
Iris, whose parents are actors Jude Law and Sadie Frost, has maintained the Ninna-Ji Temple in Kyoto. The 22-year-old model has made herself at home in the 1,000-year-old spiritual sanctuary by taking part in the monks’ daily rituals.
Posing by a serene body of water, I’m glad she’s enjoying the tranquility.

BBC Sam is hot on his heels
BBC producer Sam McAlister’s book Scoops about the Newsnight interview about Prince Andrew’s car crash is being turned into a Netflix film. But one detail was nearly expunged from her account: her vibrant snakeskin boots, inserted below.
Sam, who will be played by Billie Piper, tells me that her editor wanted her to remove references to her signature shoes for fear that it would make her appear “frivolous.” “I can have a high IQ and high heels,” the 50-year-old replied.
But she now acknowledges that her editor may have had a point, admitting, “I’ve mentioned them A LOT.”

Former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne has targeted radio presenter James Barr after his rather tasteless joke about her rock star husband Ozzy.
Appearing on Piers Morgan’s Talk TV show last week, James said Ozzy started the Covid pandemic when he bit the head off a bat on stage in 1982. Sharon, 70, hit back on Instagram saying, “Pretty sure this is NOT Precise information.”
James now admits his concern that he might receive one of the Tiffany boxes that Sharon is known to send to enemies. Let’s say the packages don’t contain sparkling diamond rings…
Tough actor Stephen Graham is a softie at heart. The 49-year-old This Is England star cried tears of joy as photo restorer Ben Lopez repaired a damaged photo of the actor as a baby with his late mother, Marie, who passed away last December. Stephen told the founder of Loved Ones Forever, “It looks beautiful. I’ve never seen my mother at that age.’
