“This is the first time I can tell you there will be a fifth season,” she told Good Morning America host Rebecca Jarvis.

“We all discovered it ourselves, so this is completely new to everyone. I’m very excited.”

Emily in Paris season four, part two, released on September 12 and followed Emily as she traveled through the Italian capital of Rome.

Speaking of the new location, Lily hopes she and the rest of the crew will see more of Italy next season.

“We’re exploring Rome and I really hope we get to see more of Italy in season five,” she said.

“We had a really great time. The whole cast felt a bit like Emily in season one running around the city with wide eyes and everything was just so exciting.”

She also spoke about what it was like working with France’s first lady, Brigitte Macron, after making a guest appearance in the series’ fourth season.

“It was a huge honor,” she said. “It was also so surprising that she really loved the show and really wanted to be a part of it.

She invited Darren [Star] and I spoke to her a few years ago about the show and what it has meant to France and Paris.

“She took her cameo in part one and season one with jokes and humor and we all found a way to get her involved and have her come to the set and she improvised and it was, she and her improvisation made the real work of the show.”

The latest series followed the dramatic events surrounding the failed marriage of Camille, played by Camille Razat, and Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo.

In part one, Emily still had strong feelings for Gabriel and Lucien Laviscount’s Alfie. But Gabriel was expecting a baby with his ex Camille, and Alfie’s worst fears about Emily and Gabriel were confirmed.

“Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together to earn a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to destroy everything they dream of,” the synopsis reads.

‘As old patterns collide with new complications, Emily finds herself drawn to a potential new love… and a new city.’

In part two, Emily’s flight back to Chicago is cancelled.

And even though there’s no better place to spend the holidays than at home, she still has to spend Christmas Eve with Gabriel and Camille’s family in Megève.

Shortly afterwards, Emily’s new love Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini, arrives and after their first date in Paris she goes to visit him in Rome.

The finale ends with a great new opportunity for Emily: she will be heading an office in Rome. Sylvie encourages Emily to do this, not only so she can stay in beautiful Italy, but also to be closer to her new husband.
