Emily Blunt beams as she arrives on set to film with husband John Krasinski – who sports a dinosaur costume – for Imaginary Friends movie filming

Emily Blunt looked in good spirits as she started filming with her husband John Krasinki on the set of their new movie Imaginary Friends in Brooklyn Heights, New York, on Monday.

The 40-year-old actress was seen beaming as her husband John changed into a dinosaur costume to film a scene.

The American actor, 44, who is also directing the new fantasy comedy, embraced his inner child as he wrapped up in the costume for a trick or treating scene alongside Catharine Daddario, 30.

Meanwhile, Emily looked stylish as she wrapped herself in a fashionable copper autumn coat.

Keeping warm, she covered her blonde locks with a gray headband as she attended the overnight shoot.

She completed the look with simple denim blue jeans and gray boots.

Imaginary Friends is an upcoming American fantasy comedy film written, directed and co-produced by John.

It follows a young girl who goes through a difficult experience and then begins to see everyone’s imaginary friends left behind while their real friends have grown up.

Featuring a star-studded cast, the film also stars Ryan Reynolds, Matt Damon, Steve Carell and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Deadpool star Ryan was also seen as he cut a smart figure in a tweed waistcoat and blue and red checked trousers.

The Wrexham football club owner was spotted on the steps of a house filming scenes with Cailey Fleming.

The pair were seen receiving advice from John as he directed the pair in action shots.

The cast is back to work after the SAG-AFTRA strike officially ended last Thursday.

The 118-day strike mainly halted productions in Hollywood, until the union reached a ‘tentative agreement’ with the studios on Wednesday. The Hollywood Reporter.

John previously opened up about the film – which he is also co-producing – saying per Deadline“I had this idea years ago for a movie about imaginary friends.”

Steve Carrell has also spoken in the past about joining the project, as well as reuniting with his former Office co-star, John, during an interview with Entertainment tonight last year.

“Well, I haven’t started the movie with him yet, but I can’t wait,” he said at the time.

The actor continued, “I expect nothing but joy and fun. I mean, he’s the best, and he’s a great director.’

He humorously explained that he planned to have a blast on set with Krasinski. “I’ll test him, you know? I’ll make him work for it. I might be one of those fussy actors who don’t always agree with each other, or who don’t want to get out of my trailer.’

No stranger to being behind the camera, John has also directed successful films such as A Quiet Place (2018) and its sequel A Quiet Place Part II (2021).

The star is also directing the third installment in the franchise titled A Quiet Place: Day One, which will premiere in theaters next year in June 2024.
