Shocking: The former Inbetweeners star, 33, recently opened up about the abuse she endured at the hands of social media trolls in the documentary Emily Atack: Asking For It

‘I’m sassy, I’m flirty… I still want to play sexy roles. I should be able to do that without sexual harassment and abuse.’

The documentary – which aired on BBC Two on January 31 – shows a vulnerable side of Emily as she tells her story of suffering vicious abuse she committed online.

In an emotional scene from the documentary, Emily burst into tears as she hugged her mother Kate after she heartbreakingly admitted she blamed herself for the barrage of unsolicited messages from men online.

In January, Emily appeared on This Morning where she broke down in tears after revealing the abuse she received on social media.

She said she has become an “easy target” for online predators because she is single and has an undeserved reputation for “sleeping with a lot of men.”

She said, “I’m just trying to live my life as a free woman without being harassed…when you get messages like that you feel so alone and isolated, it’s this spiral of self-doubt and shame and doubt.”

Emily said one of her regular online abusers is a married father who regularly creates fake accounts to send her sexually explicit messages.

“He says he puts his kids to bed and then comes alone to abuse me,” she told presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

“Then sometimes he asks if I want to get involved with him and his wife. Then he says, “I want to do it behind my wife’s back while my kids are asleep.”

“He calls himself ‘Daddy Dave’ to me and constantly says the word ‘Daddy,’ which psychologically is really terrible.”

In scenes from her documentary, Emily burst into tears as she exposed her feelings about receiving hundreds of unsolicited messages and photos of men online.

Emily wiped away tears when she told her mother Kate Robbins that she finds it “difficult” to talk about because of the impact on her and those around her.

She told Kate, “I can see the pain in your face when we try to talk about things. We can’t talk about it because it’s too hard.’

Kate said: ‘It’s very difficult – the overriding guilt is hard to explain to people.

Emily started crying and said, “I don’t know why I’m getting upset, I think I’m really tired.” Sorry it’s so awkward.’

Kate came over to hug her daughter and said, “It’s not your fault, don’t blame yourself.”

Emily then reflected on her teenage years and revealed that she got drunker than others at parties and dated boys.

She shared that she was afraid of men and she adopted the behavior as a coping mechanism, opening up to men and boys from a young age after having her first sexual experience with an 18-year-old when she was 12.

Emily has explored the inappropriate unsolicited sexual messages she receives from men and the fact that she blames herself.

She said, “What I really want to bring out is that girl at school we all know one, the girl who gets drunker than everyone else at a party and she runs off with all the guys, there’s another one story.’

Emily continued, “She’s not doing that because she wants to, because she likes sex and showing off her boobs, she feels there’s no other way to be right now and she’s looking for something in all the wrong places.”

“It’s too easy to go ‘s**g’, but you shouldn’t be looking for those things when you’re 13 years old. If so, there is clearly some pain going on.

Embarrassing: She said she’s become an ‘easy target’ for online predators because she’s single with an unwarranted reputation for ‘sleeping with a lot of men’

“I speak from experience, I’ve never been in so much pain as when I behaved like this.”

The star then revealed that she was treated a certain way by men and women after that.

She said that’s why she thinks the messages she’s receiving are her fault, adding: “Men fire that ‘you asked for it’ at us, it evades accountability.”

But Emily then said, “We’re not asking for it. It’s their behavior that needs to change.’
