Emily Atack has opened up about her love life as she reveals she has been unsuccessfully dating younger men.

On the latest episode of her podcast Soaking Up Life With… on Wednesday, the host was joined by comedian Ellie Taylor as the two talked candidly about relationships.

The 33-year-old confessed: “I’ve dated guys in their twenties and it’s not getting me anywhere.”

When we discussed the concept of “change,” the conversation came to fruition when Ellie, 39, shared how she took the plunge into comedy with the full support of her family and husband.

Ellie said her husband “has played a big part” in supporting her throughout her career, while Emily said, “Oh that’s nice, does he have any friends?”

She then admitted that she might need a bit of a change in terms of dating, confessing that dating younger “gets me nowhere.”

Ellie then advised the Inbetweener star to age, “you should go for a nice 40-year-old.”

But it looks like Emily isn’t ready to leave the toyboys behind as she gasped, “see 40 scares me!”

Emily’s new podcast in collaboration with cosmetics brand Soap & Glory celebrates who we are and helps us realize that our insecurities, mistakes and the little things that nibble on us actually make us good and truly glorious.

In the series, Emily talks to TV personality Rylan Clark, Radio One presenter Clara Amfo, feminist and author Florence Given and model and activist Munroue Bergdorf.

Ellie and her husband have a ten-year age difference, but the comedian says she would really recommend it because it meant when she met him he already knew what he wanted.

The women both agreed that men in their 20s and early 30s are still children ‘how come we still say about men when they are between 28 and 33, ‘they are still children’, no they are mature Gentlemen!’ said Emily.

The pair also discussed the influence men have on their lives, as Ellie admitted that she essentially chose her career based on being a man.

“The guy I started dating at the time was older than me[and]had a fancy job… he’s a journalist – an international correspondent. And he[said]”that’s really cool that you’re doing stand-up; you should do that again” And I was like an okay successful man.

“Basically, I chose my career to show off to a man — and that’s the lesson I’ll teach my daughter,” she joked.

Emily admitted that she too has made life changes to please men: “I changed my WhatsApp photo for a man, I changed my Instagram bio for a man, I changed certain parts (of my career), too with the comic thing.

“I used to think it was really good and nice to do those pin-up magazines, but I think it’s pretty sexy to be funny too.”
