Emergency services have been called to the Manchester United training ground in Carrington after an accident outside the complex.

Several police cars, ambulances and fire engines arrived on the scene Wednesday morning after a car crashed into a ditch at the entrance to Carrington.

The car was seen on footage from Sky Sports with both wheels on the left side of the road, stuck and unable to move in the tarmac runoff, with several rescuers around the car.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, despite the heavy presence of emergency services outside Carrington, and the driver of the car walked away unharmed, witnesses said.

Erik ten Hag was scheduled to talk to the media at 12pm, with his side in action in the Europa League against Sevilla on Thursday, and Sky Sports reporters were on hand in Carrington to provide a live update as events unfolded.

“I need to show you the entrance to Carrington, where we’ll talk to Erik ten Hag this lunch,” Sky’s Ben Ransom said.

‘It’s chaos here, you’ll have noticed the fire truck over my shoulder here and that’s because when you turned around here a car ended up in a ditch.

“We got quite a response, I think I counted five police cars, an ambulance and four fire engines.

“I think the call that initially went to the police was that there was a car teetering on the edge of a cliff.

“There are no cliffs here, that was the old training ground, this is Carrington, so luckily everyone is okay.”

United moved from The Cliff to Carrington in 2000 under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson after the previous complex was judged to be substandard.

Ten Hag’s press conference on Wednesday gave fans an insight into the status of the squad ahead of their European clash with the league’s record winners.

Both Alejandro Garnacho and Luke Shaw were ruled out of the fight, while there were also several questions about the injury prognosis for star player Marcus Rashford, who was hobbled off the field against Everton with a groin problem.

Marcus Rashford stumbled off the field on Saturday and will now have to miss ‘a few games’ injured

“Few games,” Ten Hag said in response to questions about the length of Rashford’s absence. So that’s the explanation. I cannot give more details about it. We’ll have to see how it develops.

With the England star on the verge of being sidelined, Anthony Martial is poised to start for the Red Devils in attack after scoring a goal at Old Trafford on Saturday.

“He has scored in big games and if you can do it in those games, you can do it in Premier League games,” said the Red Devils boss of the French striker. “We have to win games together and that’s my experience with him.

He’s a fighter and he likes a challenge. When he plays, the team is winning and he is still a very young player, he can kill opponents.’
