Hundreds of Queenslanders have been ordered to stay indoors as police negotiate with a man in a suburban home.
An ’emergency’ was declared on Hood Street in Urangan, Hervey Bay, at around 4.30am on Friday, following a 3am welfare check.
“Upon arrival, police began negotiations with a male resident at the address,” Queensland Police said.
“An emergency was declared at approximately 4:30 am.”
The specific reason why police declared the lockdown has not been released.
