Emergency services stormed onto the tarmac at Heathrow Airport after two planes were said to have collided with each other while taxiing tonight.

The incident took place around 8 p.m. tonight between two commercial passenger jets.

The Korean Air 777 plane is believed to have been “scraped” into an Icelandair 767 jet, an eyewitness clarified that it was not a “full” collision.

The incident allegedly occurred between the two aircraft while taxiing.

The Korean Air flight #KE908 was scheduled to depart London at 7:35 PM for Seoul, Korea.

A photo appears to show significant damage to the Icelandair’s tail from the Korean Air’s wing.

One passenger wrote on Twitter: ‘We are pretty sure we wrecked another plane with our wing tip while taxiing.

“We have been informed that we are going back to the gate due to a technical problem.

“But that was fifteen minutes ago and we haven’t moved.”

Another person also on board said there was “no apparent danger” and “no one” was injured.

“Apparently the plane has ‘a technical problem’.”

A passenger on the Korean Air flight told the Daily Star: “I looked out the window and thought we were very close to the tail for a parked plane.

“And then it looked like we’d grazed it.

“The captain didn’t tell us much, except that we have to go back to the gate due to a technical problem.

“But the last communication was about 45 minutes ago.”

Richard on Twitter said: ‘I’m on the flight they’re blocking. We were taxiing to the runway and were suddenly stopped by all those emergency services.’

“We are now being informed that we are returning to the gate due to a technical problem.”

A spokesman for Heathrow Airport said: ‘Emergency services are on hand for an incident involving two aircraft at the airport.

“There were no injuries, but emergency services are on hand to ensure all passengers and crew are safe and sound.”

The incident is under investigation.
