It comes as Portelli faces charges of careless driving, failing to properly control a vehicle and driving in a manner that causes a vehicle to lose traction.
He is alleged to have been driving carelessly at Diggers Rest in Melbourne’s northwest in December 2020.
Portelli faced the Sunshine Magistrate’s Court on October 4, where prosecutors offered to drop two of the three charges in a plea deal.
The wealthy businessman declined the offer, saying he would fight all three charges “on principle.”
‘No, I’m not going to pay the fine. “I would rather spend tens of thousands of dollars on attorneys and lawyers than accept a few hundred dollars fine,” he told reporters outside the court.
“They are relatively minor charges, there is no point in fighting them, but fortunately I am fortunate to be in a position to fight them on principle.”
Portelli is said to have lost control of his car while driving around a roundabout.
He recently gained notoriety when he had a crane lift a 57-storey McLaren Senna sports car to his $39 million penthouse in the Sapphire by the Gardens tower in Melbourne’s CBD.

Portelli also made headlines last year after an appearance on Channel Nine’s The Block when he made a record bid for the house being renovated by contestants Omar and Oz, but it led to accusations it was a ‘sham bid’ to jack up the price to conduct.
Portelli, reportedly worth $350 million, admitted last year that he is struggling to keep track of his assets.
Interviewed on the Frankie Lee podcast, the entrepreneur admitted he didn’t know the full extent of his ever-growing real estate portfolio.
The online promotion guru, whose joint ventures grossed a whopping $60 million last year, also said he has lost count of the number of luxury cars he owns.
It comes after Portelli announced two weeks ago that he was willing to spend thousands of dollars to fight a number of traffic violations
