Em Rusciano shares health warning to all women aged in their 40s and tells them not to be ‘gaslit’ by their doctor: ‘Find another GP’
Australian media personality Em Ruciano has issued a health warning to all women in their late 30s and 40s.
The podcaster, 44, revealed on Instagram that she is going through perimenopause and urged her followers to see a doctor if they experience symptoms.
“I just want to give a little bit of encouragement to anyone who might have looked up and realized that they've let go of their entire health,” she began.
'Three and a half months ago I realized I was in perimenopause. It was so bad that my body was leaching my bones for calcium, including osteoporosis.”
She went on to say that rheumatoid arthritis runs in her family and that her ADHD symptoms were “out of control.”

'I was 10 kilos overweight, I was binge eating. I was eating huge meals at 11pm but not eating at all all day. I just kind of looked up and went enough and it was worth it. I want to encourage you to do it if you need too,” she added.
Em then urged anyone who “feels anxious, exhausted, angry, has no sex drive, has very strange cycles and has an up and down appetite” to see a doctor.
'There is a good chance that you are in perimenopause. There's also a chance you'll go to a doctor and say all these things and they'll tell you you're just worried,” she continued.
'But don't be afraid for your health. Find another doctor or even find someone who specializes in female hormones.'

It comes as Em recently explained why her autism and ADHD have become more visible since she was formally diagnosed with the developmental disorders.
In a video shared to Instagram, the podcaster said she has been “masking” her autistic behavior all her life and finally feels free to express her true self.
“If you've been diagnosed with ADHD too late, or are autistic, you may encounter people who say that you're suddenly acting more autistic or that you're acting more ADHD,” she began in the clip.
“I'm going to give you a reason for that. So our entire lives there have been two planes on which we have existed. What's actually going on in our heads, and what we've done to our bodies to mask and fit in,” Em continued.

'And that makes us so exhausted and unwell. So when we get this diagnosis, we realize we don't want the two planes. We want our minds and bodies to match.
“So we started giving ourselves permission to drop that mask and close the gap between our bodies and our heads. And therefore you will suddenly start behaving more in accordance with how you really feel.
“And you're not actually putting on an act, you're actually more yourself than you've ever been in your life,” the singer concluded.
