Em Rusciano has gone to bat for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after they came under fire for their controversial Netflix series.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new show, called Harry and Meghan, has come under fire after critics pointed out that the couple had stated they hoped to live “a quieter life” by stepping back from royal duties just to star in an exhibition.

The Australian comedian said in the new episode of her podcast: emosolation, that the couple should be able to build a public profile.

‘She’s trying to do her thing. I just don’t understand the vitriol she uses. I wish her the best,’ Em said of Meghan.

‘I think it’s good for you, go hard. If people want to interact with them, that’s their choice. They are not doing anything wrong or illegal.

She continued: “I don’t understand why they’re not allowed to build a brand, build an empire, when people like the Kardashians are.”

Em believes the couple need to ‘control the narrative’ and tell their own story as they see fit.

“I understand the need to want to control the narrative, so you have to be as open as possible, in your language, with your people and your team, and I hope that your voice rises above all the other stories that happen about you” .

“You can say, I want to tell my story on my terms,” ​​he said.
