Elyse Knowles Considers Leaving Instagram Over Lewd Comments From Sex Bots

The Block star Elyse Knowles considers leaving Instagram because ‘pornstars’ leave disgusting comments on a photo of her young son

One of Australia’s top models is considering leaving Instagram after her family photos were flooded with obscene comments from bot accounts.

Elyse Knowles, 30, a former Myer ambassador who won The Block in 2017, posted a photo of her son Sunny on Thursday and, within minutes, was inundated with sexual comments from fake accounts with explicit profile photos.

This problem will be all too familiar to the thousands of Instagram users who have seen their own posts filled with pornographic garbage in recent years, a problem that the Meta-owned social media platform has yet to fix.

One lewd comment read: ‘Why am I alone with my appearance?’ while another said: ‘I’ve never tried it in a restaurant’, followed by devil emojis

A furious Elyse, who is expecting her second child with partner Josh Barker, complained about the bot’s comments on her Instagram story.

‘Instagram has almost lost me. The comments are only from porn stars, and do not go beyond about 30 accounts. Makes sense,’ she wrote.

Elyse’s fans supported her by reporting the bot accounts and posting positive comments to push the obscene comments further down the thread.

I have reported these accounts for you. It’s a serious problem and I think Instagram needs to do better,” said one supporter.

“Don’t stop posting your beautiful family…it’s pure joy and happiness,” added another.

Bots leave lewd comments on posts from public accounts, but especially high-profile accounts belonging to celebrities, influencers, and even the media.

Once a user clicks on the profile of one of these porn bot accounts, they are directed to a “sex chat” with the account, which then takes them to a website that attempts to access their personal information, including credit card details.

According to analytics agency Instascreener, there could be as many as 150 million bot accounts on the app right now.
