The recent Elvis film starring Austin Butler will be screened for free in 10 North American cities on the King of Rock And Roll’s birthday on January 8th.

To remember the life and legacy of Elvis Presley, who passed away at the age of 42 in 1977, Warner Bros. and its Graceland estate will hold free screenings of the film for fans of the late singer.

The 2022 biopic, which was nominated for three Golden Globes, has Butler playing the musician.

Elvis Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi and died on August 16, 1977 in Memphis, Tennessee.

This year he would have turned 88 years old.

While the movie is available to watch on HBO Max, screenings will include special appearances by Butler and director Baz Luhrmann.

There will also be thirty minutes of behind-the-scenes footage highlighting the making of the film, which has grossed $284 million worldwide at press time.

Elvis will stream for free in: Atlanta (AMC Phipps Plaza); Chicago (AMC Rio Este); Dallas (AMC North Park); Kansas City, KS (AMC Town Center); Los Angeles (AMC Burbank); New York City (Loews 34th Street); and San Francisco (AMC Meteron).

In Canada, the film will be shown in Toronto (Cineplex Scotiabank) and Vancouver (Cineplex Odeon International Village).

All screenings will take place at 5 p.m. except for the Los Angeles screening which will begin at 4 p.m.

There will be an additional screening at 2 pm at the late singer’s Graceland estate in Memphis.

Earlier on Tuesday, Luhrmann took to social media to wish fans of the film a happy new year and teased the surprise ahead of Elvis Presley’s birthday.

“Happy New Year from the Gold Coast,” he said in the clip. “On behalf of the entire Elvis cast and crew, thanks for coming out and watching.”

He added: “Warner Bros. and the Presley estate have some gifts to make it unlike any other Elvis birthday there has ever been.”

Previously, the Moulin Rouge director promised fans that he would release a four-hour version of the blockbuster.

The Australian filmmaker has explained that the extended version of Elvis will be released shortly after he has had a break to rest and finish the montages.
