Elton John, 76, struggles to walk as he leaves swanky dinner in a foot brace – after stepping out with a cane for Derek Draper’s funeral following mystery injury
Elton John struggled to walk as he left a fancy dinner in a foot brace on Tuesday night.
The singer, 76, had enjoyed a meal at Oswald’s in London with his husband David Furnish and friends and looked in pain as he later walked to his car.
He was helped down the steps of the restaurant by a member of his team before getting into a red Bentley to go home.
He was wearing an Evenup shoe balancer which the website states is used after an injury or surgery on the foot to correct leg length discrepancies caused by the use of running shoes.
It comes after he was seen using a crutch as he attended Derek Draper’s funeral earlier this month.

Stepping out, he looked as stylish as ever in a pink suit and shirt and trendy tinted glasses.
The foot brace appearance comes after he was forced to postpone his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour following ‘an awkward fall’ in the summer of 2021.
He subsequently had to undergo hip replacement surgery after being left with ‘significant pain and discomfort’.
Elton said in a statement at the time: ‘At the end of my summer holidays I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and have had significant pain and discomfort in my hip ever since.
”Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain has become increasingly worse and leads to more and more movement problems.’
He added: ‘I have been advised to undergo surgery as soon as possible to get me back to full fitness and ensure there are no long-term complications.
‘I will undertake a program of intensive physiotherapy which will ensure a full recovery and a return to full mobility without pain.’

More recently, in the summer of 2023, he suffered another fall at his home in southern France, which left him hospitalized.
The music legend was taken to the orthopedic ward of Monaco’s Princess Grace Hospital where he was checked out.
A representative for Elton confirmed to MailOnline at the time that he was discharged the morning after and was soon back in ‘good health’.
In a statement they said: ‘We can confirm that following a slip and fall at his home in the south of France yesterday, Elton attended the local hospital as a precaution.
‘After checks, he was discharged immediately this morning and is now back home and in good health.’
It comes after it was reported earlier this month that he is ‘working on top-secret new music’ set to be released before the end of the year.
The music icon retired from touring in the summer of 2023 and took to Glastonbury’s famous Pyramid stage for the final UK show of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
Elton has been releasing hit after hit since the 1960s, with his latest album, Regimental Sgt. Zippo, released in 2021.
And now a report suggests the megastar is back in the studio working on a new album – news that’s sure to delight fans.
“It was all very secretive, but Elton is back in the studio working on a new album,” a source said The sun.
“Timeframes are always moveable, but the fourth quarter is set in terms of a release date.”
The source added: “He loves music and that will never change, but the desire to be as busy as he was has diminished.
“Elton will still have a Rocket Hour radio show on Apple Music and his finger is still on the pulse; he just wants to slow down and spend time with his family, but the new album is coming soon.”
The singer-songwriter joined one of the entertainment industry’s most exclusive clubs in January when he became an EGOT holder after winning an award at the 2024 Emmy Awards ceremony.

Elton won in the Outstanding Variety Special category for his well-received special Farewell From Dodger Stadium.
But despite the monumental achievement, Elton was not personally present in Los Angeles to accept the award as he had to sit out the show due to his recent knee surgery – after sustaining an injury in a fall while on holiday in France.
Elton had spent the summer of 2023 in France with his husband David Furnish and their two sons after wrapping up his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in July.
Although at the time Elton did not rule out releasing new music in the future, he decided to stop touring to spend more time with David and their children.
