Elon Musk’s X is offline worldwide, leaving thousands of users unable to access the website or app.

DownDetector, which monitors online outages, shows that problems occurred around 9:45 a.m. ET, affecting the US, Britain and parts of Europe and Asia – among other regions of the world

Many users report that their feed is not loading properly, posts are not being shared, or they are seeing a blank page.

Some users access X and share messages about the outage.

“Can you imagine the stress Elon is under today? Tesla’s future is at stake, about to call a margin, the payment package could be rejected and now X is no longer available,” said an X user.

It is not yet known what caused the outage and how many were affected.

DownDetector’s outage map shows major US cities experiencing issues, including Los Angeles, Phoenix and New York City.

About 77 percent of problem reports mention the website, 16 percent of users indicate that the app is glitchy and just under seven percent indicate that their server connection is lost.

More than 6,000 users have reported problems with X to DownDetector since the outage.

Musk’s

X’s CEO last week teased a possible change to the platform, which would see all new users pay a “small fee” to respond to posts.

In response to an account that posted about the possible changes, the Tesla and SpaceX boss said charging new users to post, like and comment is the “only way” to prevent fake or bot accounts on to stop the platform.

The news has not gone down well with many users, with one warning that such a change would “drive millions of people away from the platform.”
