Many Twitter employees have flocked to rival app Threads in the wake of its record-breaking launch, a new report claims.
This is despite heightened tensions between Twitter’s Elon Musk and his Meta rival Mark Zuckerberg.
One Twitter employee even admitted that Threads was “just better,” according to it The everyday beast, adding: “I’m getting fired for this, but I work at Twitter now and never really used it. On to a new world!’
Another user complimented the ease of Threads’ registration process by posting: “[Not gonna lie] the application process was very pleasant.’
But these employees aren’t alone, as nearly a quarter of a sample of 133 employees have signed up for the “Twitter killer app,” according to the publication.

Musk’s workforce currently stands at about 1,700 people, meaning hundreds may have joined.
MailOnline also found that other former and current Twitter employees have used Threads to air their grievances or promote Musk’s platform.
Bruce Daisley, who previously served as Twitter’s vice president in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, labeled Threads “a mess of the hottest kind.”
He wrote: ‘I hope someone at Threads Towers has a busy day ahead with computer stuff as this is a mess of the hottest sort right now.’

In a separate post, he added, “Welcome to Threads. I hate it already.’
Meanwhile, Twitter software engineer Tom Blacknell wrote, “Everyone should check out Twitter.”
Dionne Grant, a partner manager at the company, also jokingly posted, “Research purposes and that,” to which one user responded with a winking GIF.
The news comes just days after Twitter threatened to sue Meta over its new “copycat” Threads platform.

In a letter published Thursday, Twitter attorney Alex Spriro wrote: “Twitter is deeply concerned that Meta Platforms (Meta) has engaged in systematic, willful and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property.
“Twitter intends to strictly enforce its intellectual property rights and requires Meta to take immediate steps to stop using Twitter trade secrets or other highly confidential information.”
In a tweet referencing the letter, Musk later added, “Competition is fine, not cheating.”
Andy Stone, director of Meta Communications, replied that no ex-Twitter employees participated in the technical side of Threads.
He wrote, “Nobody on the Threads tech team is a former Twitter employee – that’s just nothing.”
