Elon Musk’s mom Maye reveals the reason she decided to leave the Democratic Party

Elon Musk’s mother Maye is speaking out about the “malicious and dishonest” Democratic party after joining her son in support of the Republican Party and Donald Trump.

The 76-year-old model, who has recently become more outspoken about the problems in the US, says the party’s treatment of her son made Musk reconsider how she felt about them.

Her news diet when she became a U.S. citizen was full of typically liberal, conservative-bashing networks like MSNBC and CNN.

“But then they also said Elon is terrible, and I thought, why are they lying about Elon?”

She continued, “It really came down to the fact that they just didn’t know what they were doing,” she said.

The 76-year-old model, who has recently become more outspoken about the problems in the US, says the party’s treatment of her son in the wake of his support for Trump made mother Maye reconsider how she felt about them.

Musk now believes the party could lie about anything to hurt the United States.

“When I resigned from the Democrats, I felt such relief that I am not part of the party that is now evil and dishonest. And my biggest fear is the fraud they commit at the polling booths,” she said Fox Business.

It’s been a long time since Musk became a citizen in 1996 and voluntarily joined the left.

“When I became an American citizen, of course I was a Democrat because they give you that option and because they are good, kind people who care about America,” she said.

Musk is worried about her son now that he has joined forces with Trump, funded a PAC in support of the former president and run many of his GOTV operations.

“I always worry about Elon, but remember: Biden is on X. Kamala Harris is on X… all the Democrats are on X,” she said. “It’s horrifying, and as a mother it terrifies me.”

However, mother Musk is fully confident that her son will be able to lead the proposed DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), which plans to cut $2 trillion in federal spending.

“I think over two trillion dollars. I think he was just being modest. I mean, look what he’s done with Twitter and X. It’s unbelievable,” she said. “And then of course Tesla was an idiotic thing to do, and we’ve heard it’s idiotic. SpaceX was idiotic. And how is he doing now?’

In September, Maye took a stab at New York City because of its homelessness and trash-strewn streets.

She posted photos to her X account of litter and what appears to be a person wrapped in a blanket and lying on the sidewalk.

‘An early morning walk through downtown New York. Keeping my dog on a tight leash,” she wrote in the post. ‘This wasn’t the case in the past. It started within the last two years. Why?’

In 2022, Maye criticized the New York Times for an article that said her son had “white privilege” growing up in apartheid-era South Africa and was “detached from the atrocities of apartheid.”

In the article, the Times interviewed relatives and classmates of the Tesla founder, revealing that the communities in which he grew up – Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban – were shrouded in misinformation that influenced their residents.
