Elon Musk’s feuding baby mamas, Grimes and Shivon Zilis, bury the hatchet after the singer accused the billionaire of preventing her from seeing her kids

Elon Musk’s mother-of-three Grimes has declared a ceasefire between herself and one of the billionaire’s other baby mamas after her tweet last week sparked speculation of infighting in the House of Musk.

Last week, Grimes – whose real name is Claire Boucher – accused the SpaceX founder of blocking her from seeing her son, and Neuralink director Shivon Zilis – mother of two of Musk’s children – of blocking her.

In a tweet on Sunday night, Grimes seemed to put all that behind her, saying she’s “excited to be friends” with Zilis, 37, and that their “kids are growing up together.”

Zilis, a mother of twins who was recently photographed, responded by calling Grimes a “badass” and saying their lengthy conversation, which cleared the air, was “insanely overdue.”

Grimes called for “de-escalating the narrative” that she set ablaze last week when she tweeted to Musk biographer Walter Isaacson and asked him to pass a message to Zilis.

“Until now, I have never even been allowed to see a photo of these children, even though the situation completely tore my family apart,” she wrote.

The details are included in Isaacson’s upcoming biography of Musk, which contains several revelations about one of the richest men in the world.

Grimes, a futuristic singer who dated Musk for three and a half years, appears to have called a truce over his allegations. She added in her Sunday post that she has “completely forgiven” the situation and that “women are so often pitted against each other” – an outcome she hopes to avoid with Zilis.

“I finally spoke to Shivon at length, which is long overdue. This wasn’t her fault, please don’t be mad at her! We respect each other a lot and we are happy to become friends and raise the kids together,” Grimes wrote in a lengthy tweet.

“I’m really sorry for reacting to Walter like that. As you can imagine, that was a very gut reaction to something that was very difficult for me. Communication regarding the twins has not been great in the past, but I now fully understand what happened and completely forgive the situation.

“When I speak with Shivon it is very clear that she is a wonderful person and we both just want the best for our children,” she wrote.

The love seems mutual, as Zilis quickly replied, “It all turned out well in the end!” Thank you for taking the time to really connect and understand each other. So glad we had such a great conversation, it was insanely overdue.

Grimes also gestured to her family’s newest addition, writing, “I wish I could show you how cute little Techno is, but my priority is keeping my babies out of the public eye, please respect that at this time.”

The existence of the newest baby was revealed earlier this week in a New York Times review of Isaacson’s biography of Musk. It is not clear how old Tau is.

It’s also not entirely clear what steps were taken to resolve Grimes’ other complaint that Musk wouldn’t allow her to see her son — a claim that could refer to X or Tau.

Musk’s complicated personal life has included three marriages and three divorces, including two each with the same woman, as well as eight children from two long-term romances plus the twins with Zilis that they conceived via in vitro fertilization.

Elon started dating Grimes in April 2018. The eccentric couple made headlines when they made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala the following month.

Amid a series of breakups and reconnections, the couple welcomed their first son ‘X AE A-XII’ in May 2020.

Their second child Exa Dark Sideræl, who is called Y, was born via surrogate mother in December 2021.

Musk’s other children are the result of his union with his first ex-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson.

He married Justine Wilson in 2000. Their first son Nevada tragically passed away in 2002 when he was ten weeks old. The couple then welcomed twins Griffin and Xavier in 2004.

Xavier – now 19 – has since switched genders to women. Her name is Vivian and she has famously dropped her father’s surname – after telling the court she no longer wanted to be related to him in any way.

Zilis, a native of Ontario, Canada, met Musk through OpenAI, the nonprofit artificial intelligence research and implementation organization that Musk co-founded in 2015, Insider reported.

In 2015, Zilis was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the venture capital category, and in 2017 she joined Musk’s brain chip company Neuralink as director of operations and special projects, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She studied economics and philosophy at Yale, where she also played goalie on the women’s ice hockey team.

Musk and Zilis filed a petition last April to change the twins’ names so that they “have their father’s last name and their mother’s last name as part of their middle name,” according to court documents.

Isaacson wrote that Zilis has been Musk’s “intellectual companion in artificial intelligence since the founding of OpenAI.”

The photo of Musk, Zilis and the twins – posted by Musk’s biographer Walter Isaacson – was taken at Zilis’ home in Austin, Texas, according to an excerpt from the biography published in Time.

Not much is known about the twins Musk shares with Zilis. The photo posted by Isaacson is the first public image shared of them, and their names, Strider and Azure, were revealed last week.
