Banks made headlines in August of that year after claiming Grimes invited her to Musk’s LA estate so Banks could collaborate on music.
But Banks compared her stay at his home to horror film Get Out in a scathing Instagram post.
The rapper claimed via her Stories that Grimes spent the weekend consoling Musk, who had tweeted at the time that he wanted to take his company Tesla private at $420 per share.
Banks claimed that Musk regretted the tweet because he had not yet secured financing for the company’s privatization.
She also made accusations linking the mogul to the use of drugs, including marijuana. Musk denied ever meeting Banks The Guardian.
A few years later in 2021, Grimes reignited the feud when she announced that her new song at the time, 100% Tragedy, “about having to beat Azealia Banks when she tried to destroy my life.”
Banks responded by saying, “Grimes definitely has a psychosexual obsession with me. I think it’s bitterness because she doesn’t have the musical abilities that I have.

After his divorce from Gimes, Musk has filed a lawsuit for custody of their children in Texas, where his headquarters are located.
Grimes subsequently filed a counterclaim in a California court, filing a “petition to establish a parental relationship,” which is typically seen as the first step in suing for custody of unmarried parents.
She alleged that Musk denied her children access and even prevented them from seeing their terminally ill maternal grandmother.
A Travis County clerk confirmed the dispute had been settled in Texas but declined to provide further details.
