Elon Musk hires new FEMALE CEO for Twitter — but won’t name her — as he teases plans to step down as boss of a social media company in the next six weeks
- Musk made the announcement Thursday afternoon on Twitter
- Has not revealed the identity of the new CEO, says he will become the company’s CTO
Twitter boss Elon Musk says he has hired a woman to take over from him as chief executive officer of the social media network.
Musk, who bought Twitter in October 2022, tweeted, “Excited to announce I have a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will start in ~6 weeks!
“My role will transition to exec chairman and CTO (chief technology officer), overseeing products, software and sysops.”
Musk has not disclosed the identity of his new CEO. He’s cut about 70 percent of Twitter’s workforce since buying the company for $44 billion, including the entire executive team.
