Elon Musk declared that he is not ‘suicidal’ during another bizarre interview discussing possible retaliation for his ‘Twitter Files’ leaks.
The Twitter CEO was questioned about his personal safety during another appearance on Twitter Spaces just 24 hours after internal documents were released about the platform’s decision to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story.
Tech guru Kim Dotcom asked the world’s richest man if he had “suicidal thoughts” out of the blue, surprising other chat participants.
Musk, 51, responded: ‘I don’t have suicidal thoughts. If I committed suicide, it’s not real.
The world’s richest man completed his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in October and said he had faced a heightened risk to his personal safety because of his actions in the company.
He cut the workforce in half in the first week of November when he officially took office, with 3,700 people losing their jobs.
Musk claims the chances of him getting “shot” are “quite significant” after his controversial decisions.
Tesla CEO Musk answered more questions during other live Twitter slots with tech guru Kim Dotcom
Staff members discovered that they were laid off after being disconnected from their jobs during the mass layoffs.
Musk said: ‘Frankly, the risk of something bad happening or literally even getting shot is pretty significant.
‘I’m definitely not doing any outdoor car parades, let me put it that way. It’s not that hard to kill me if someone wanted to, so I hope they don’t.
“Maybe I should be more worried than I am, but I think overall if you do the right thing with people, you have people on your side.”
It’s not the first time the Tesla CEO has hinted at threats against his life, posting a cryptic tweet after clashing with a prominent Russian official over his decision to provide Starlink satellite internet to Ukraine.
He said: ‘If I die under mysterious circumstances, it’s been good to know.’
During the bizarre exchange, Musk also indicated that there is “more irrefutable evidence” regarding censorship under Twitter’s previous leadership.
He hinted that there would be more announcements in the near future, similar to the information released about Hunter Biden and the alleged Twitter cover-up.
Musk suggested that Twitter was “acting on government orders to suppress free speech,” apparently in reference to the Biden campaign asking the platform to remove the links, but it was Donald Trump who was running the government at the time, not Joe Biden.
The “Twitter files” dubbed by Musk show Twitter employees going back and forth trying to justify their censorship of the Hunter Biden story under the site’s hacked materials rules.
Musk added: “We’re just going to put all the information out there, try to wipe the slate clean, we’ll be iteratively better and it’s going to force other media companies to be more truthful as well or they’ll lose their readership.”
He posted a large number of tweets containing emails from Twitter executives involved in the censorship of Hunter Biden’s laptop.
In one such email, sent ten days after The New York Post first broke the laptop story on October 14 of that year, Twitter staff were asked to “review” five tweets deemed problematic by “the Biden team”.
That same day, another email reveals that there was an additional complaint from the DNC and two more tweets were deleted.
It is unclear from the leaked emails what the deleted tweets were about, however Washington Free Beacon investigative reporter Andrew Kerr said he had discovered the content of several of the tweets.
He said three of the tweets that the Biden camp demanded be removed contained “Hunter Biden porn” and photos of Biden’s genitals, from the laptop.
It includes requests from the Biden campaign team to remove certain links, which were allegedly inappropriate images of Hunter Biden posted without his consent.
Yoel Roth was the global head of trust and security at Twitter. He told the Federal Election Commission in December 2020 that Twitter executives believed a ‘hack-and-dump’ scheme involving Hunter Biden was in the offing.
It comes after an FBI agent testified in an investigation led by Republican attorneys general that agents were meeting ‘weekly’ with social media executives to discuss misinformation in the run-up to the 2020 race.
He claims that one of the tweets the DNC requested to be removed was from actor James Woods and was about Hunter smoking crack and committing a sexual act.
And he says the second tweet was a link to Hunter Biden weighing and using drugs, and another link to a Hunter Biden sex tape.
Musk also addressed the possibility of a government crackdown, during a heightened period of scrutiny over his handling of the company.
He said: ‘I think there will probably be some actions that will happen, but they will happen slowly.
‘It’s only been a month so far, but I’d expect something, there’s probably at least some dire stuff in the works, right?
‘It would be naive to assume that there are no nefarious things. I’ll expose them on Twitter and see what happens.
