Steve Borthwick’s team will start the World Cup preparations against Wales on August 5
Should Genge receive a longer suspension, he would miss the start of England’s World Cup warm-up campaign.
Steve Borthwick’s team will start preparations for the tournament in France against Wales in Cardiff on August 5.
A second meeting in Wales and matches with Ireland and Fiji will follow.
Even if Genge missed one or two of those matches, he would still be a certainty to go to the World Cup as he is one of the first names on Borthwick’s England team sheet.
He captained the side against France in the Six Nations as England suffered a home defeat.
