Ellen DeGeneres debuted Friday through various media channels with a teaser trailer for her new program, About Time For Yourself… with Ellen.
In a promotional video, the 64-year-old broke from her talk show roots and tried out a new docu-comedy format instead.
Her comeback comes just five months after she stopped hosting her long-running daytime chat show.

In the clip, DeGeneres expressed via People that she’d enjoyed the newfound absence of cameras and television production after she left her show.
“You know, lately I’ve been taking some time for myself away from the cameras,” she said.
The artist went on to say that she recently came up with an idea for a program and asked her wife, Portia de Rossi, for help.
“I had such a great time, I thought I’d share some of what I’ve done with you. And so I yelled, “Portia, get the camera,” so I thanked Portia for doing this. Great job, so far,” she said.

A statement was also given to People describing the upcoming program, which will be streamed on its official YouTube channel.
“After Ellen steps out of the spotlight on her iconic talk show, she’s trying something bold and new: being unemployed,” it read.
The statement continued: “In this new series shot at her home, Ellen shares her own efforts to try new things and make some time for myself in her own Ellen way.”
About Time For Yourself… with Ellen is released weekly and the first episode is scheduled to premiere on Saturday.

DeGeneres’ previous venture, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, premiered on ABC in 2003. The program quickly became a hit with viewers, with many pointing to the comedian’s sympathy as a strong suit.
DeGeneres, as well as the series’ crew members, have received numerous Emmy Awards for their impressive work on the talk show.
She stayed with the program for nearly two decades before announcing it was ending last year.

However, in 2020 DeGeneres and her associates faced accusations of fostering a hostile work environment by numerous anonymous employees.
Three producers were fired from the program after it was revealed that they had engaged in various forms of misconduct while on duty.
When her own alleged behavior towards guests and crew members was called into question, the comedian offered several public apologies for her behavior in the months following the scandal.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show came to an end when its last episode aired last May.
