Ellen DeGeneres appears to leave gal pal crying with laughter – as she prepares for comeback stand-up tour after end of talk show

Ellen DeGeneres appeared to leave a friend crying with laughter as they enjoyed a light-hearted chat in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The 66-year-old comedian is preparing for her comeback tour Ellen’s Last Stand… Up, which kicks off next month in Spokane, Washington.

She last toured in 2018 — four years before her daytime talk show ended amid a blizzard of accusations about the “toxic” work environment.

But the drama of the past appeared to be far behind Ellen as she grinned happily with her friend during a sunny outing.

The superstar comic hid her signature cropped blonde hair under a baseball cap and cut a casual figure in a cozy black sweater and gray sweater.

Her latest sighting comes two days after she and wife Portia De Rossi were spotted heading to one of Ellen’s performances in Los Angeles.

The former talk show host — who recently discussed her retirement — and her husband, 51, coordinated in casual looks.

She was said to have received “thunderous applause” during a stand-up show at Club Largo in April, during which she joked about her fall from grace after being plagued by a toxic workplace scandal that damaged her reputation as a favorite TV presenter had been affected.

She recalled being “kicked out of show business” for being “mean,” per Rolling stone.

DeGeneres continued, “The hate continued for a long time and I tried to avoid the news. The “be nice” girl wasn’t nice. That was the headline.’

“There are no mean people in show business… I became a one-dimensional character who gave things away and danced on steps,” she continued.

‘Do you know how hard it is to dance up steps? Would a mean person dance up a flight of stairs? “If I had ended my show by saying, ‘Go enjoy yourself,’ people would have been pleasantly surprised,” the star cracked.

She admitted that she “didn’t know how to be a boss” despite being the face of her show, before reminding fans that she “went to Charlie’s Chuckle Hut” and not business school.

“The show was called Ellen and everyone wore T-shirts that said ‘Ellen’ and there were buildings on the Warner Brothers lot that said Ellen, but I don’t know if that meant I had to be in charge,” she mused.

Ellen promoted her upcoming tour in her latest Instagram post, which was shared with her 139 million followers on Tuesday.

She shared a video clip as she once again prepared for a performance at Club Largo on Monday night.

In the recording, she said to the camera, “I’m about to go on stage here at Largo. Very excited. I have a few more shows here before I hit the road and visit some big theaters. So this is a nice, intimate place to see me if you can.”

In the caption she wrote: ‘Backstage at Largo from last night’s show. Two dates have just been added: June 12 and 13. These are my last two shows in LA before I hit the road! Tickets are in the link in my bio.”
