Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi splash out on another Montecito mansion
Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi have snapped up another lavish property in Montecito, California.
The former television host, 65, and her other half, 50, are now owners of an elegant Spanish hacienda called Pompeian Court, which was originally built in 1919 and which they bought for $22.5 million.
The property, which spans 6,500 square feet, features three bedrooms and five bathrooms. It also features lush gardens, a swimming pool and a private tennis court at the end of a long tree-lined driveway.
While the exterior and landscaping appear finished, it’s believed the Primetime Emmy Award winner — who recently had lunch with her brother nearby — will focus on restoring the house.
The idyllic coastal town is also home to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Aniston and dozens of other A-listers.

It comes after the comedian and actress put their other 1915 Montecito cottage up for sale for $5.85 million last November.
The 2,830-square-foot home, with three bathrooms, a half bath, and a guest house, is located in the Hedgerow neighborhood of town and is said to have “incredible privacy” while still being “in close proximity to the beach and the lower and top floor of Montecito’. villages.’
DeGeneres, who has bought and sold at least 20 over the years, is said to have owned $450 million worth of homes over the past two decades.
In 2020, the couple spent money in several places, including a four-acre Montecito estate with multiple buildings and a Cape Dutch-style main house for $49 million.
She also recently bought back another historic estate in Montecito that was sold in 2018.
The couple reportedly live in a nearby Balinese-style home, which was purchased for $27 million in 2019.
And Ellen’s real estate adventures aren’t limited to the Santa Barbara area.
In May 2019, the star purchased a newly renovated five-bedroom, 12-bathroom Beverly Hills mansion from fellow celebrities Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo.

In April, DeGeneres gave a rare insight into her life with Portia in their $70 million “forever home” in California when she gave her first interview in a year.
The couple, who have become known for their multi-million dollar real estate portfolio and their home flipping prowess, have settled into their newly acquired Carpinteria estate.
Speak against RIV magazine, the star said, “This place is all about the place. The house needed a lot of work, but the place was always great. Oddly enough, this was the very first place Portia and I ever looked at here (back in 2007)… To be honest, I didn’t even want to see the place. It’s the longest I’ve ever considered on a property.
“Because the place was incredible, but the house, although it had good bones, didn’t really have any surface for me to live with and everything collided with everything. Even the ceilings.’
The star said she and actress Portia don’t clash over home renovations, saying, “There’s no division. She loves horses as much as I love houses. But we don’t dive into each other’s silos. I can’t really get her to go into a furniture store with me. Unless there’s a horse in there somewhere.”
The star has made huge progress in renovating the new estate after just a few months and revealed how she gets the job done so quickly.
She added: “Personally, I don’t understand people accepting these drawn-out schedules to get things done. Once I’ve made the decision to enter, I’ll go to the races. And in a case like this, where we’re only dealing with surface changes, it’s really just a matter of how big a high-quality team of painters and finishers you can build and deploy quickly.”
DailyMail.com reported earlier this year that Ellen and Portia renewed their vows — with Kris Jenner officiating — at their new estate in a ceremony also attended by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“This is a new chapter,” Portia told her wife. ‘After 24 houses in 18 years, this is our first house.’
In December, the New York Post reported that DeGeneres and de Rossi had purchased the home in Carpinteria, just south of Summerland.
They paid for a pair of properties right next to each other, one for just over $40 million, while another brought in nearly $30 million.
The two properties together add up to 10 hectares. The publication also reported that $70 million was the highest amount ever paid for a property in Santa Barbara.
In the footage of their vow renewal, Ellen and Portia are seen holding hands as they look into each other’s eyes. They also each hold long-stemmed white flowers.
The two first met in 2000 at a party and de Rossi immediately fell head over heels for Ellen. However, the pair did not begin dating until several years later, in part because de Rossi was not out as gay at the time.
The couple got married in 2008 after California legalized same-sex marriage, and they’ve been together ever since.
