Elle Macpherson reveals her bizarre packing hacks for long-haul flights: ‘I take it very seriously’

Elle Macpherson has revealed she takes her holiday packing ‘very seriously’ as she shares some of her bizarre luggage hacks for long-haul flights.

The Australian supermodel, 60, revealed her tips and tricks for organizing her holiday luggage on Monday PerthNow.

With a decades-long successful business, modeling and TV career, the WelleCo founder has taken her assets on countless trips abroad over the years.

Now the media personality has revealed that one of the hacks she uses is to always try on all the clothes she packs a week in advance.

‘I am someone who takes packing very seriously. From at least a week onwards I try everything on and add and remove pieces as I go,” she said.

Elle added that her second tip is to roll clothes instead of folding them so they fit better in a suitcase.

‘I roll my clothes instead of folding them, that makes all the difference. My dream is to live on carry-on luggage only and I’m getting closer to that,” she said.

‘I can last another good seven days. It’s about wearing key pieces in different combinations. I like to put something on and leave the house in two seconds.”

It comes after Elle admitted late last month to using cocaine during her modeling years.

The supermodel spoke at length about her addiction and journey to sobriety in her memoir, Elle: life, lessons and learning to trust yourself.

In one chapter, she revealed that she often got drunk and drank “shots of vodka” after putting her sons Cy and Flynn to bed when they were young.

She admitted in November on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she used cocaine in the past to lose weight.

Radio presenter Kyle Sandilands told her: ‘I made the mistake, and I’m happy to admit it, of thinking I would lose weight by using cocaine for 10 years.

‘Have I lost weight now? No, I didn’t. I felt bloated.’

In response, Elle admitted, “I did!”

It came as she explained why she controversially turned to holistic healing methods instead of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017.

“It wasn’t like there was a one-size-fits-all silver bullet… that you could just take and say, ‘OK, this ultimately guarantees greater well-being,'” she said.

‘Sometimes it’s a combination; it’s not either-or, maybe it’s a combination of things.

‘People should just explore and find out what appeals to them and get as much advice as possible.’

In her memoir, Elle – who was dubbed ‘The Body’ at the height of her fame – details the depths of her addiction before quitting alcohol and getting sober in 2003.

She shared her habit of drinking shots at night while with her now ex Arpad “Arki” Busson, the father of her children.

“My life looked great to everyone. I was doing beautifully on the outside, but deep inside I was really struggling,” she wrote in her book.
