Elle King ‘never meant to hurt’ father Rob Schneider for revealing he sent her to ‘fat camp’

Elle King said she “never wanted to hurt” her estranged father Rob Schneider, a month after she revealed he forgot birthdays as a child and twice sent her to a fattening camp.

“I never thought this would go viral,” the 35-year-old country singer said People on thursday.

“I was just talking about my childhood and my truth. I wasn’t trying to hurt him.”

Elle (born Tanner Elle Schneider) remembers spending summers with the 60-year-old comedienne after his two-year marriage to her mother London King ended in 1990. He was always busy on film sets, though.

‘I was a very, very heavy child. It’s so awful. But like [fat camps were] “Where he sent me,” the king confessed on the Dumb blonde podcast on August 12.

‘I went there two summers in a row. I was 11 and 12.’

In June, Rob, who converted to Catholicism last year, was booed off stage for making transphobic, sexist and anti-vaccine comments during his comedy performance at a fundraiser for The Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

“I don’t want to be associated with him. He’s just not nice,” the four-time Grammy nominee responded.

“I don’t agree with what he says. I believe in all forms of love. And I just believe that everyone finds their happiness and joy in whatever way, in whatever capacity. There is no politics when it comes to love.”

Elle further noted that she never profited from the fake baby relationship with Schneider because he “didn’t have the best reputation.”

The three-time Emmy nominee responded to King’s public criticism during his Aug. 15 appearance on The Tucker Carlson Show in which she named her three-year-old son Lucky Levi Tooker with tattoo artist Dan Tooker.

“I want to tell my daughter Elle that I love her and that I wish I was the father you needed in my 20s,” Rob apologized.

“I clearly wasn’t. I hope you can forgive me for my shortcomings. I love you dearly and I adore you. I just want you to be healthy and happy with you and your beautiful baby, Lucky. I wish you the best. I feel terrible. I just want you to know that I don’t take anything you say personally.”

Schneider is 24 years older than his third wife Patricia Maya Schneider, but they have been married for 13 years.

The Dead Wrong actor is making up for his ‘shortcomings’ as a young parent with their 11-year-old daughter Miranda Scarlett Schneider and 8-year-old daughter Madeline Robbie Schneider.

“A lot of people were like, ‘How can she say that about her family? Everything has to be behind closed doors,'” the Baby Daddy’s Weekend singer said Thursday.

“No, it doesn’t. Sometimes you just have to say things and get them off your chest so you don’t have to carry them around with you for the rest of your life. But ultimately, I think an apology for Tucker Carlson is a double negative, right? It doesn’t mean anything.”

Elle continued: “What I will say is the best thing that’s come out of this is my incredible LGBTQ+ community knowing that they have an ally in me. And if that’s the biggest thing that’s come out of that platform, I would have done it 10 times f***ing because I am an ally, they have one in me, and I’m grateful.”

This Friday, King, who has 4.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, will release her new single High Road and bring her 29-date Baby Daddy’s Weekend Tour to 7 Clans First Council Casino & Hotel in Newkirk, OK.
