Elle Fanning reunites with nominated sister Dakota at the 2025 Golden Globes in gold and red gowns
Dakota Fanning reunited with her younger sister Elle Fanning at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, held Sunday at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
The former child stars – aged 30 and 26 – posed in stunning red and gold dresses at the annual ceremony where the Hollywood Foreign Press Association honors the best of film and TV.
The Georgia-born blondes co-founded their production company Lewellen Pictures in 2021, and they’ve been working on it for the past few years.
“Obviously we started out as actors, and I think we both have a desire to develop our own projects and really be a part of things from the beginning,” Dakota (née Hannah) explained. The tonight show last March.
“And, um, we’re super close, so I can’t – I would never do it with anyone else. It must be her.’
The Fanning sisters were joined at the glamorous CBS/Paramount+ broadcast by their beloved grandmother, Mary Jane Odum.

Dakota looked leggy in a red strapless dress, with a matching scarf and ankle-strap heels, selected by stylist Samantha McMillen.
The Perfect Couple star wore her signature flaxen locks and she matched her lipstick with her statement dress.
Fanning was nominated for Best Supporting Performance in a Series for her role as wealthy socialite Marge Sherwood in the Netflix show Ripley.
“What an absolute thrill and honor it is to be nominated for a Golden Globe alongside such incredible company,” said The Watchers actress. Instagram December 9.
“The opportunity to play in Ripley and play Marge has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. I’m so happy to share this with Steve, every member of the team behind the scenes, and the brilliant Andrew Scott. My Marge doesn’t exist without its Tom. Thank you very much!’
But Dakota ultimately lost the trophy to Baby Reindeer actress Jessica Gunning.
Both Fannings loved posing with the legendary Glenn Close, who previously co-starred with Dakota in Rodrigo García’s multi-story drama Nine Lives in 2005.
At 6 feet tall, Elle (née Mary) towered over the 77-year-old scene stealer from Deliverance, who she appeared to gush over on the red carpet.
The Emmy-nominated actress — who also relies on stylist Samantha McMillen — posed sizzling as usual in a custom replica of a Pierre Balmain haute couture FW/53 ball gown.
