Ella Emhoff sets the internet alight with her appearance as she urges America to vote for her ‘Momala’ Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, took the stage at the Democratic National Convention Thursday night before her stepmother, aka “Momala,” for a moving tribute and to rally support.

The 25-year-old artist and model beamed with joy as she was joined onstage by the Vice President’s niece, Meena Harris, and her goddaughter, Helena Hudlin.

Their appearance comes on the fourth night of the convention, when the Democratic Party introduces Harris to the American people as their presidential candidate before formally accepting the presidential nomination.

They called the 59-year-old vice president, whom they know personally, an “extraordinary woman.”

“Kamala came into my life when I was fourteen, a period that was very easy for a teenager,” Emhoff said.

‘Like many other young people, I didn’t always understand what I was feeling, but no matter what happened, Kamala was there for me.’

“She was patient, caring, and always took me seriously,” Emhoff said. “She never stopped listening to me, and she won’t stop listening to all of us.”

The tattooed Emhoff, dressed in a white-and-gray dress and slicked-back hair, caused a stir online with her appearance on stage at the convention.

“Ella Emhoff’s dress just won the #DNCConvention2024,” wrote one user on X.

“Ella Emhoff is going to be a fashion icon,” wrote another.

“They forced Ella Emhoff into a dress for this,” one X user joked of the artist who often opts for more hipster looks. “My god, Kamala Harris wants power.”

Emhoff is no stranger to attention.

She has accompanied her stepmother and father, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, to a number of political events over the years, including the 2021 inauguration.

A Brooklyn-based model and artist, she has appeared in several major fashion campaigns and on the red carpet at the Met Gala.

During the conference, Emhoff shared what she believes her stepmother will fight for as president.

“She’s fighting for social justice, health justice, environmental justice, and she’s not alone. We’re in this fight together,” Emhoff said.

For the Harris-Emhoff family, the conference is a family affair.

The second gentleman gave a speech on the second evening of the congress, Tuesday.

Before he spoke, Harris’ 30-year-old stepson and Ella’s brother, Cole, narrated a video about his father.

The video was produced by Emhoff’s ex-wife and Ella and Cole’s mother Kerstin Emhoff, who were also in Chicago this week.

Ella Emhoff was on hand all week to cheer on her family in a series of trendy outfits that were the talk of the internet.

Meena Harris, the daughter of the vice president’s sister Maya, said in her own speech on Thursday that the vice president “has led me, now she’s leading my own children, and I know she will move our country forward.”

Hudlin recounted how Harris spoke about making a difference and “giving your whole heart.”
