Elizabeth Hurley and son Damian to celebrate Cup Week at Flemington as Shane Warne’s ex prepares to visit Australia for first time in 11 years

British actress Elizabeth Hurley and her son Damian will lead the A-listers at this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival.

The glamorous duo will be at the Flemington circuit for two days as guests of the Victoria Racing Club.

This is the first time in 11 years that Elizabeth, 59, has returned to Australia, having last been seen Down Under with her then fiancé Shane Warne at the 2013 Australian Open tennis.

The Austin Powers actress and her 22-year-old model son will enjoy Melbourne Cup Day and Crown Oaks Day from the famous Birdcage Enclosure.

The pair will also announce who is the most suited and best dressed for the Fashions on the Field in the Park competition.

“Damian and I are thrilled to be coming to Australia to celebrate the Melbourne Cup Carnival with the Victoria Racing Club,” Elizabeth said in a statement.

“We look forward to being in Flemington, watched by millions of people around the world, to experience the event first-hand and hopefully find a winner along the way,” she continued.

“We are also really looking forward to all the fashion and entertainment that will make this carnival truly unique.”

Elizabeth’s hearts started racing when she was last seen with Warne in Flemington in 2011.

And last month son Damian shared a heartwarming tribute to Warne, on what would have been the late cricketer’s 55th birthday.

The dashing filmmaker and fashionista posted a gallery of throwback photos on Instagram that captured the “family time” between the mother and son and the sports legend.

In one precious photo, Shane posed with a young Damian.

Another captured Damian and his mother relaxing outside with Shane and his son Jackson.

The sweet photos show the strong bond Shane shared with the youngster during the three years Shane dated his mother Elizabeth from 2010 to 2013.

Damian was born in 2002 to Elizabeth and her late ex-boyfriend, American multi-millionaire businessman Steve Bing, who died in 2020.

He captioned the photos: “Happy Heavenly Birthday SW. We miss you every day.’

Many of his famous friends and family were quick to comment on the post, including his mother and Shane’s son Jackson, 25, who both posted love heart emojis.

The British actress and model began dating the late cricketer in 2010 before getting engaged a year later and eventually splitting for good in 2013.

Shane branded his romance with the famous beauty the ‘happiest time of his life’ and was upset that everything didn’t work out.

Fans will no doubt be expecting a reunion between Hurley and Shane’s children, Brooke, 27, Jackson, 25, and Summer, 22.

The King of Spiders tragically died on March 4, 2022 at the age of 52 from a heart attack while staying at a luxury villa on the Thai holiday island of Koh Samui.

Hurley recently starred in her son Damian’s directorial debut Strictly Confidential, in which his mother gets hot-tempered with another woman.

She explained that her son’s filmmaking began in childhood and that Warne and his children appeared in many of his early films.

Melbourne Cup Carnival 2024 takes place from November 2 to 9 in Flemington Victoria Derby Day.

The Lexus Melbourne Cup Day, meanwhile, takes place on November 5, with Crown Oaks Day on November 7 and finally the TAB Champions Stakes Day on November 9.
