Elizabeth Hurley, 59, rings in the New Year with son Damian and pal Trinny Woodall as they enjoy a boat party on the River Nile during their Egyptian getaway

Elizabeth Hurley celebrated the New Year in glitzy fashion on Tuesday as she joined a host of famous friends for a boat party on the River Nile.

The model, 59, put on a show-stopping show in a dramatic rainbow dress as she rang in 2025 with her son Damian and friends Trinny Woodall and Elizabeth Day.

In a group photo shared to Day’s Instagram, all the stars showed off their sequins as they enjoyed the lavish celebrations.

Trinny made an equally striking appearance in a shimmering silver dress, while Elizabeth donned a fun 1920s metallic fringe mini dress.

She captioned the post: “Happy New Year from a floating boat in the Nile and a pile of sequins. LOVE YOU ALL! Have a great 2025.”

Elizabeth and Damian were among a string of stars who shared glimpses from their New Year’s celebrations, including Amanda Holden, Perrie Edwards and Cruz Beckham.

Just days earlier, Elizabeth and her look-alike son Damian enjoyed an early morning sightseeing during their lavish Egyptian getaway on Sunday.

On Instagram, the 59-year-old actress playfully posed in front of the Giza pyramids, showing off a glimpse of her incredibly toned abs as she threw her arms in the air.

Elizabeth wore a gray sweater and jeans for the outing, which she paired with a brown jacket and stylish sunglasses.

The stunner also wrapped a scarf around her neck to beat the cold as they arrived in the dark to watch the sun rise over the desert.

Meanwhile, Damian donned a warm checked coat and scarf and paired his mother with a similar pair of sunglasses.

Elizabeth captioned the photos: “Hello Egypt.”

Now an established star herself, Liz helps Damian, her only child from a former relationship with American businessman Steve Bing, to forge his own path as an aspiring film director.

Debut film Strictly Confidential – both written and directed by the 22-year-old – was released in 2023 to lukewarm reviews.

Much of the criticism revolved around Elizabeth herself, whose starring role in the film includes a raunchy lesbian sex scene with a woman 30 years her junior – filmed by her son.

“It’s kind of interesting because I’m a single mom and he’s a single kid, so we spend a huge amount of time together by default,” she explained.

‘When he was very young, he became fascinated by my company. He started taking photographs and making mini films when he was nine or ten. I gave him a camcorder and he let me be in all his movies.

‘I always played the evil queen. My mother was in it, Hugh was in it, my ex-husband, everyone had to be in his films as he progressed through baby films to more adult films.

‘He’s actually been directing me for ten years, so nothing has really changed. I was just used to it.”

Last week, the Bedazzled star put on a leggy display in a burgundy PVC blazer dress as she shared a behind-the-scenes clip from her latest photoshoot.

It comes after Elizabeth revealed she is no longer speaking to ex Hugh Grant after being linked to fame in THAT Versace dress at the premiere of his 1994 film Four weddings And A Funeral.

The actress and model became a household name overnight thanks to the extravagant couture dress, made from a mix of black silk and Lycra, held together with oversized safety pins and borrowed from the Versace flagship store on Old Bond Street.

Likewise, Hugh also enjoyed a significant change in fortunes – both personally and professionally – thanks to his role as the perpetually bachelor Charles in director Richard Curtis’s romantic comedy.

And Elizabeth credits their relationship with helping her navigate a pivotal time in her life, but admits they are no longer seeing each other – despite still being close friends after their amicable split in 2000.

Appearing at the Bazaar At Work summit in London earlier this month, she said: ‘I was with my ex, Hugh Grant, so it happened to both of us at the same time. Like me, he had also worked a lot and thought he was doing quite well, until Four Weddings and a Funeral came out and suddenly it was very different: he was a phenomenon.

‘The film was a huge success and everything changed. But there were two of us and I think that helped a lot. If you are suddenly in the spotlight, your life is not designed for it.’

She added: “You have no protection whatsoever. It was alarming. The press was much rougher in the 90s and 2000s than it is today. I really believe that people should not be as rude as they were back then.

‘[I] I think it gives you a bond when you go into the trenches with someone. I mean, he’s married and has five kids. I hardly ever see him, but he is still close to my heart.’
