Elizabeth Debicki and Lily Collins are among a new crop of actors joining a star-studded sequel to the Mia Goth horror films X and Pearl.
The 32-year-old Tenet actress and 34-year-old Emily In Paris star were announced on Tuesday as part of the new cast for MaXXXine, which will be directed by Ti West, who helmed the previous two films in the series. .
The new movie will take place after the events of X, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
After a gory massacre on a rural Texas ranch in 1979, Goth’s character Maxine emerges as the sole survivor, and she then heads west to California to pursue her dream of becoming a star in the 1970s. eighty.
In addition to new stars Debicki and Collins, MaXXXine will also reportedly feature appearances from Halsey, Kevin Bacon, Bobby Cannavale, Giancarlo Esposito, Michelle Monaghan and Moses Sumney, who is best known as a musician and singer.

Sources told the publication that the film will focus on the “dangerous world of underground filmmaking.”

While the role of Collins is yet to be announced, Debicki will reportedly play a movie director, while Esposito will play an agent for porn stars and down-on-their-lucky mainstream actors.
There will also apparently be a major crime investigation in the horror movie, as Cannavale and Monaghan will play detectives with the Los Angles Police Department, while Bacon’s character will work off the grid as a private investigator.
The series has thus far been the opportunity for Goth to showcase her range, as she played both the young Maxine in X and the much older woman named Pearl, playing a younger version of that character in Pearl around 1918. Both movies were released last year.
The films grossed relatively modestly, with X taking in just over $15 million, while Pearl made $9.8 million at the box office.
However, they only had budgets of about $2 million combined, making them relative horror hits.
Both films were also hits with critics, with X earning an impressive 94 percent new rating from critics polled by Rotten tomatoeswhile Pearl was almost as strong at 92 percent fresh.
MaXXXine will be written and directed by West, while A24 will distribute again.
West and Goth are also joined by Jacob Jaffke, Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss as producers.
The films have had an extraordinarily fast production schedule.
