Elijah Wood is a dad again! The Lord of the Rings star confirms that he secretly welcomed his second child with his partner Mette-Marie Kongsved in 2021
Lord of the Rings alum Elijah Wood has just revealed that he and his Danish partner, Mette-Marie Kongsved, welcomed their second child, a girl, sometime in late 2021.
‘[We have a] three year old son [Evan] and a 14-month-old daughter, and she wakes us up pretty early,’ she confirmed to the 42-year-old SAG Award winner. W.S.J. Magazine.
‘I like to get up early, I like to start the day.’
Elijah is believed to have originally met his 31-year-old baby boy in April 2016 on the Portland, Oregon set of Netflix’s Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, which she produced and he starred in.
Mette-Marie also produced the films Wood Mandy (2018), Come to Daddy (2019) and the upcoming adventure film Bookworm directed by Ant Timpson.

The Iowa-born actor told the magazine that he loves taking an active role as a parent, from sleep training to packing school lunches for his little ones.
And while Elijah has amassed 2.9 million Twitter/Facebook followers, he revealed that he secretly has a private Instagram account.
“I wanted to be able to share photos that I didn’t necessarily want to share with the world,” Wood explained.
‘A public account would really change what I share. It’s not that I’m sharing anything I wouldn’t want out, but I’m a relatively private person.
The Daytime Emmy nominee has been hard at work promoting his recurring role on the second season of Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson’s drama Yellowjackets, which airs Sundays on Showtime.
In it, Elijah reunites with his Ice Storm co-star Christina Ricci to play Walter, a citizen detective who becomes the love interest of his ruthless nurse, Misty Quigley.
Wood will also star in the upcoming video game drama LA Rush from Jiahuang Peng and Peng Chen, as well as the upcoming remake of Macon Blair’s The Toxic Avenger.
But the former child star began appearing in Paula Abdul’s 1989 music video for Forever Your Girl (directed by David Fincher) before landing a breakout role in Barry Levinson’s 1990 drama Avalon.
