An elderly woman has died after being struck by a car while crossing the road in front of a busy shopping center in south-west Sydney.
Emergency services were called to Lopez Lane, Bankstown, on Friday around 3:30pm following reports that a pedestrian was struck by a car.
The pedestrian, believed to be in her 90s, was crossing the street when she was struck by a Toyota Prado.

The driver, a man in his 50s, was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

A crime scene has been established while police investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Local traffic diversions have been put in place and motorists are urged to avoid the area, which is close to Bankstown railway station and behind Bankstown Central shopping centre.
Police were seen talking to witnesses at the scene of the accident.
